Vincent tried on and discarded four separate teasing comments about it, but didn’t get to decide on one before Thomas silently handed them over, and he realized they were newspapers, opened and refolded over the weekly comics, his favorite. Three of them, one for each week he’d been away.
Ah, he thought, with the feeling of a sudden hard deceleration in his chest, the press it put on his heart. Ah. All right then.

‘Well, Bilbo dear, you do have a ring on your finger. We assumed you were just waiting for things to settle down before you brought her home. Or him, I suppose,’ his aunt replied.
Before Bilbo leaves Erebor for good, Thorin Oakenshield presents him with a ring - a token of his friendship and regard, nothing more.
Unfortunately, that's not how the rest of Middle-earth sees it and if Bilbo indulges, well; he doubts he'll be seeing Thorin again for a long time, if ever. Their parting was hardly auspicious.
But Bilbo never thought that Thorin would truly come and visit him in the Shire, and now he's got to keep the knowledge of their supposed marriage a secret from him. The other hobbits don't really make that very easy.

I want to see a fic where instead of Wayne taking Gordon to expensive restaurants and driving him around in fancy cars and dressing him up in designer clothes, Gordon takes Wayne around to diners with sticky tables where they serve shitty coffee, and to his postage stamp apartment with its single spring bed, and Wayne wears Gordon's cheap t-shirts and sweats and worn out boxers, and Gordon makes eggs and eats noodles out of a pan, and goes for jogs in ratty sneakers to pick up cheap cigarettes and Wayne can't get the smell out of his $5,000 suit for a week. Oh, and it turns Bruce on.

As the building collapses, her powers accidentally transport her into a different Universe, onto the ship of a mysterious man bearing the face of Vision's human disguise. Wanda has to find her way in this new Universe, all the while juggling her grief and her confusing and frustrating reactions to the man who she knows isn't who he seems. Is it all some sort of a trick, a cruel joke, or could this be the Universe's twisted attempt at giving her a second chance at happiness?
