While playing a game of truth or dare, Okuyasu prompts Josuke to recall the nearly-forgotten summer of '89, when Jotaro Kujo came to Morioh to hunt for a serial killer. Eager to latch onto any excuse to spend time with Okuyasu (whom he sorta-maybe-definitely has a crush on), Josuke agrees to meet up regularly so Okuyasu can pick his brain about the events of that summer. But when news begins to circulate of a recent series of murders that resemble those of the killer Josuke supposedly helped his nephew track down ten years ago, remembering what transpired in 1989 suddenly becomes a matter of life or death.
(A fan-made part 4 prequel/sequel featuring Mother 1, forensic scrapbooking, local history, and a chorus of sarcastic ghosts.)

Off the bat, Hopper just assumed that Mike coming along was one big plot to get back together with El. That’s what he’d been bracing for, at least; having El post up in he and Joyce’s room on an air mattress, keeping the door open three inches when she was hanging out with the boys in their room.
But that’s not what happens. Not what he thinks happens, at least.
Or, Hopper has a feeling about Will and Mike.

They're back in Hawkins, everything is the way it's always been, except - yeah, it's still the middle of an apocalypse, Will is having nosebleeds and Mike would sacrifice the world for his best friend but is still losing him.

“Shoulders,” Mike says, sounding vaguely chipmunk-like, and he hears Max barely choke down a snicker.

“Why did you punch him?” Mike asked, his voice getting stronger, putting the last pad down on the edge of the bathroom sink. He turned back towards Will, still sitting on the edge of the tub. Their eyes met again. “You’ve never fought before.”
And Will couldn't do anything but stay quiet and look away again (avoid, avoid, avoid–)
Mike sighed, clearly getting frustrated. “Come on, Will, talk to me. What's going on with you?”
He tried to catch his eyes, dipping in front of him to get into Will’s view, but he stubbornly kept his eyes away, down towards the ground. He didn’t really know why. He just– couldn’t. The cold of the bathtub seeped into his gripping hands.
“It’s nothing,” he bit out through clenched teeth.
“I don't believe that.”
“I’m fine, I can manage.”
“I don’t think breaking someone's nose is ‘managing it’, but okay.”
Or: In a quiet, vulnerable moment in the Wheelers' basement bathroom, an unknown anger courses through Will's body.

“Mike?” A voice that sounds a lot like Nancy’s shouts through the speaker, even though it’s hard to tell with Steve’s raucousness and the tin of the walkie and the hazardous quality to maybe-Nancy’s voice. “Um — something’s happening—”
The walkie dies out again, and Mike really cannot handle any of this right now. He rams down the button and yells,“What, Nancy, what?” Rationally he knows that panicking is the worst thing to do in a situation like this, but after the past few years of everything, how could he not panic?
“It’s Will, he’s not — he’s not moving.”
Or: While Mike and Lucas are out on a mission to spy on the military's scheduled gate burning, something happens to Will, and Mike may or may not have a few revelations.

Mike tottered back over the edge, crying out, and Spider-Man shot out an arm like it was nothing, grabbing him from around the waist. Mike cursed himself, adrenaline pulsing through his limbs as the superhero chuckled, moving as far away from the edge as possible before letting Mike go.
“You okay?” Spider-Man asked, and Mike could practically see his grin of amusement.
Mike, on the other hand, was the epitome of embarrassment. “Uh,” He croaked. He kind of felt like crying.
“Seriously, are you going into cardiac arrest?” Spider-Man asked, putting a hand on Mike’s shoulder.
Mike felt himself flush deeper. “No. No- yeah. I’m fine. Thank you.” He looked at the ground. The right knee of his khakis was stained oil-black. How had that even happened?
“You sure?” The hero squeezed his shoulder.
“Yeah.” Mike nodded, and Spider-Man released his grip. “Fine. Thanks for…” He trailed off. “Totally saving my ass, I guess.”
or, Micheal James Wheeler, an intern at a New York based publishing company, is in love with his best friend. Will Byers, a visual arts student, is Spider-Man. As in THE Spider-Man.
