This is a truly. perfect. piece of writing.
The way Sigismund keeps sacrificing himself by indulging Wenceslaus's whims, the psychological portrayal behind it, and the way his attitude changes as he grows older... AAAAAAA it's all so perfect I'm losing my mind. 😭
Before I started researching Wenceslaus's actual history, this was exactly how I imagined him in my head.
Thank you so much for taking that version of Wenceslaus and bringing him to life through your writing. 😭😄

Maekar's grip tightened, and Baelor felt his weight more acutely up the length of his spine as he bent nearer again, "do you hear me?" he asked once more, a mean edge to his voice- as if he were asking Baelor if he yielded with his sword knocked free of his hand and Maekar's knee shoving his gorget against his throat. The answer had been obvious then, as it was obvious now. Baelor had always evaded such an answer, enjoying the life and vicious spirit in his brother's eye; he evaded the answer now, though he had nothing to stare at besides the grain of the table.

The other person that’s been paying attention is Flambae. He’s right next to Robert on the couch, his arm slung over the top behind his head. One foot is propped up on the other knee, also pointing towards Robert, which has him caged in the corner by the arm rest. It’s probably some fucked-up power move. Robert has been ignoring it just to spite him.
“It’s just not how comas work,” Robert shrugs.
“Right, and you know because you’re a fucking doctor,” Flambae quips back.
“I know because I was in one, asshole.”

During a quiet night in, Robert realizes that his coma and injuries aren't common knowledge among Z-Team.
Most of them take the information in stride with jokes aplenty.
