Summary
Izuku’s breath crystalizes in the air on the exhale. He breathes in the cold air—sharp and cool and clean in his lungs as he sets out to tend his chores in the early morning light. Out here in the crisp air of the new morning, he feels as though time might stretch on forever, eternal, until the sun eventually pulls itself over the horizon completely and hangs high overhead, signaling noon and then Izuku must head inside to check on Kacchan.
Inside, stew is bubbling away in a pot hung over the fire. There’s a homespun rug to catch the snow, and pegs on the wall to catch jackets that Izuku doesn’t plan on hanging up. Instead he takes off his coat and folds it over an arm as he steps further into their den, where Kacchan awaits him in their nest by the fire in a loose, dark shirt and nothing else, hand sewn blanket drawn up around his lower half in lieu of pants.
