The world spun as Sam entered the prison, Quackity’s voice ringing in his ears with every step. He walked quickly, stumbling every step as his mind filled with thoughts of revenge, a fog of hatred and guilt and loathing falling across his eyes.
“He deserves this Sam,” Quackity said, his voice much too cheerful in Sam’s opinion, “you know what he did. To us, to Tommy, we can’t let him live.”
Sam nodded. Quackity was right. Tommy was dead, a child was dead. Dead because of Dream. His life cut short, any hope of growth or closure or acceptance taken from him decades too soon.

Barely any surface area to land tricks and the lack of a center of balance made his ego feel weakened by the blow to his morale. He remembered Sapnap laughing at him, laughing along back then, too.
The memories were bittersweet, and he had resolved not to think about them anymore when his eyes starting burning due to something besides the cold.

There was a window near his head; it was covered in heavy curtains, but there was still a thin ray of sunlight piercing through. He stared at it with sleepy eyes for a long moment, and only then did it occur to him he hadn’t seen sunlight in months.
