“What the…” Akira murmured, approaching it cautiously. He knew for a fact no books had been left out…
It was stupid to be nervous. He’d locked the door immediately at ten p.m., so it wasn’t like there was a lingering surprise customer knocking shit off the shelves. It must have been resting on the edge and lost the fight to gravity. A reasonable explanation. He knelt down to pick it up and paused with his hand hovering over the cover. His fingers trembled slightly as he read the title.

Summary
The Phantom Thieves have nearly secured their route through Maruki's Palace. There’s only one section left: The Twilight Corridor. A paradise where everything is perfect, and everyone is always smiling.
In order to enter that place, the Thieves must first prove they've "completed orientation" and can be "happy." There are points, there is a scoreboard, and they’re locked together in an experimental space where wishes can be granted by simply saying them aloud. Everyone has to individually earn 100 happiness points, or no one is leaving.
So what is “happiness,” really? How does Maruki define happiness? What the hell is a quantifiable happiness point? Is there any way around this? Don’t these stupid kids realize this is a trick to get them to fall back into the thrall of Maruki’s reality? And why can’t Goro earn any fucking points?
(Or: I've been watching too much Dropout Game Changer and I’ve built an Akechi torture chamber.)

“Come on, Ren-kun,” Yukari nudges Ren as he slumps. “I dove into being Pink Argus with little experience myself, and I haven’t regretted it since. Maybe you’ll feel the same.”
Ren thinks about it. His life really couldn’t and shouldn’t revolve completely around the shadow world, he supposes. And he’s not obligated to do any more than this if acting doesn’t agree with him after all.
Ann’s going to freak. Futaba is going to lose her shit.
“You remember the Phantom Thieves of Hearts business a few years back?” The director asks. “It won’t be a complete one to one, but I do have to admit that this series’ plot is loosely based on it.”
Okay, now that’s just unfair. Now Ren has to take the role.
So that’s how Ren becomes a Featherman Ranger.
Or, Amamiya Ren becomes a Featherman actor, bases his character off Akechi, and the real Akechi Goro disastrously simps from afar.

It takes a second, but eventually recognition enters Sakura's eyes. His stance relaxes. “Ah. I remember. How can I help you?”
Maruki adjusts the strap slung over his shoulder, jostling the bag at his side. Some of the containers inside audibly complain as they slide into each other, changing the weight distribution. “I’m here regarding Kurusu-kun. As his temporary guardian, it concerns you too.”
“Why? Winter break isn’t over yet.”
“Well, it’s been brought to my attention that he’s currently in a heat."

He might as well have applied as Taro Tanaka, the way Ryuji just accepted the application. It’d sounded good, but not too good to be true, and he shouldn’t have asked Yusuke to help him vet applicants because Yusuke had said it would be fine.
“Yu-huh,” Ryuji grumbles. This really is his own fault, and blaming Yusuke isn’t fair. It’s not like Yusuke would have expected anyone applying, no matter how generic their name may be, to actually be Goro freakin’ Akechi.
