Summary
Diluc runs into Kaeya, delirious and severely injured by a rifthound in the woods of Wolvendom. Kaeya is in a pretty bad way and Diluc is unable to help much because of the corrupting nature of the injury. He’s going to have to wait and watch until the corrosion has run its course to tend to Kaeya or else neither of them will be strong enough to survive a night in the forest. But for Kaeya that might be too late.

In a way, Adelinde started to regard them as her second family. At some point during all those years, she realized that she still hadn’t moved out, and she couldn’t see herself doing so. Master Crepus had never pressured her into it as well, on the contrary, he seemed to trust her more and welcome her in with further enthusiasm as time went by. Which is why it hurt so deeply when she was also there when it all fell apart.

The name tastes like ash on Kaeya’s tongue. Crepus gifted the latter half of it to him when he was young, when he was still too new to the family to understand the significance of what it means to be a part of it. When he is older and has realized the ardent ferocity with which the Ragnvindrs love their own, the name becomes a searing brand on his heart, a mark that burns him with a sweet viciousness that he cannot help but cherish no matter how much it hurts to know that it is not truly his.

On Diluc’s eighteenth birthday, Kaeya scours himself of his lies again and again and again, but he doesn’t realize the worst one until it is almost too late.

Diluc and Kaeya had gone out on a mission together for old times sake and a Treasure Hoarder happens to get a lucky hit on Kaeya. Nothing life threatening, but Kaeya would certain feel better if the world would stop spinning.
Diluc knew that Kaeya was hiding something, only to be proven right when the man collapses halfway back to Mondstadt. He really wishes they had ridden horses.
