There’s a man standing outside of Renjun’s apartment with his life packed into a suitcase and several, modestly sized cardboard boxes. His hair is black. His slacks are gray. The dress-shirt rolled up around his forearms, white. He’s got eyes that are big and round and gooey in the way brown sugar boba and half-melted chocolate chips are, even though the rest of his face is pensive. His tongue pokes out of his mouth as he fishes for a set of keys in his front pocket. It’s kind of cute.
Renjun hates that it’s kind of cute. Hates him as a whole, actually. Because in case anyone’s forgotten, this is supposed to be Renjun’s apartment, and Renjun’s apartment alone.
Renjun's old apartment is infamously (and in his opinion, expertly) haunted by none other than himself. Mark Lee decides to move in anyways.

“Your hands are shaking.” The Emperor finishes his thought gracefully. It's the first time they've spoken–even their courtship contained no correspondence aside from the many gifts that piled high in Soobin's room at the manor, untouched. Most, if not all, had come with him on the journey. “Are you perhaps cold?”
“Oh,” he says stupidly. “No, your Majesty.”
He clams up immediately after, tongue thick behind his teeth, unable to offer any more clarification than what he's already given. The wine jar settles onto the table without any incident, and Soobin's shaking hands settle atop his knees, smoothing over his robes. Mustering up his courage, he forces himself to continue.
“I suppose I'm just nervous.” Growing up, he'd been encouraged to be truthful. Not that much encouragement was needed–he'd been honest to the point it was a fault. Even so, that changed as soon as his mother decided he was meant for bigger things. She'd swiftly changed her tune–Soobin-ah, if you need to lie, the best way to do so is with a partial truth. Choi Soobin is not cold, nor is he nervous. He is terrified.

In a second, Taeyong teleports into the space in front of the window to block Jaehee’s path. Jaehee sees him at the last moment, skidding to a stop in the middle of the room.
“Let’s not do this, please,” Taeyong says, hands held up in front of him. “We don’t have the time, unless you want to go back to that place.”
“I’m not going with you,” Jaehee says, gritting his teeth and throwing another quake his way. The air is punched right out of Taeyong as he goes flying backwards, his bodyweight shattering the window behind him—and he topples right out of it, tipping over the low window ledge as glass rains down around him.

“I just don't get it,” Chenle muses “How on earth do people actually find a date from Tinder? These people are giving me nothing.”
Jisung hums soothingly but Renjun just scoffs. “Have you seen your own profile? Fucking idiot.”
“Hey!” Chenle snaps. “What's that supposed to mean?”
Renjun plucks his phone straight out of his hand and opens up Tinder, flipping the screen around to shove it in Chenle’s face. “Chenle. Look at me. Now look at your profile. Now look at me. Now look at your profile. Now look at Jisung. Now look at your profile.”
Chenle starts to feel vertigo from flicking his eyes up and down and left and right so many times. “What exactly am I looking for?”
“I think what Renjun means,” says Jisung, ever the diplomat, “Is that you, uh, aren’t giving people much to work with either."

“I’m not a kid,” Tommy said automatically, immediately gripping onto his cloak more tightly.
He didn’t want Tubbo to hate him. As much as Tommy hated to admit it, he actually liked Tubbo quite a bit, and if he took the cloak off, Tommy was sure to be cast out immediately.

Summary
The worst things about reliving June 1st, 2030, over and over again are:
- Renjun has no idea why this is happening. He graduated as valedictorian from Seoul National University and was the youngest researcher to be invited to work at South Korea’s first underwater research facility— but he can’t figure this strange new situation out. No matter what Renjun does throughout the day, he always goes to bed and wakes up again on the exact same morning.
- Renjun loves his job, but there are only so many times you can study the same specimens and write up the same reports. After a while, there isn’t anything new to discover or look forward to. Donghyuck’s jokes aren’t half as funny after hearing them so many times. Nothing Renjun does is meaningful when everything resets at the end of the day.
- Na Jaemin transfers to the facility on June 1st, 2030. He’s unreasonably good-looking, instantly wins over the other researchers with his extensive knowledge of sea turtle habitats, and is totally Renjun’s type. He’s also Renjun’s ex.

Summary
The thing is, it didn’t even hurt. It was just a light slap, something to grab his attention. The shock comes from the way Donghyun grabs his face afterwards, not harshly but still crossing so many boundaries that he wasn’t aware he needed to set in the first place.
Shotaro yanks the hand away from him with his own, looking at the man with wide eyes. Donghyun hardly looks surprised, if not a bit confused at his reaction.
“What?” He asks.
“You can’t do that,” Shotaro blurts out without thinking. Donghyun looks like he’s going to get angrier for a moment before he pauses and nods.
“I can,” He says patiently, as though explaining something to a toddler.
shotaro finds himself the target of a manager with less-than-well-meaning intentions. the few people close to him witness his slow but steady downfall into despair and isolation.
