The question startled Gale, who looked up from where he sat cross-legged in front of his tent, organizing his scrolls in preparation for their upcoming “visit” to the goblin camp. He’d given Astarion a wide berth since the revelation of his vampiric condition a few days earlier, so he was surprised to see the pale elf looming over him now, a peculiar expression on his face.
“You know,” Gale offered with a smile, “in my extensive journeys across manifold realms, I do believe that is not a question that I’ve ever been asked before. I honestly can’t decide whether or not I should be offended.”

Of the many side effects Gale has faced as a result of his whole “being physical host to an imminently destructive magical orb” problem, he somehow never anticipated his blood now apparently smelling irresistible to vampires (or at least, one particular vampire) to be one of them.

Summary
As you placed your face up against the wall, you nearly jumped back when you heard the lowest of murmurings coming from the other side.
"I knew it!" You cheered in your head, although your body shook with each whisper you could hear. It was hard to make out what exactly was being said. The thick walls muffled what was being said but you could hear it in the slightest.
The voice was low, both in pitch and in volume. It didn't sound angry, as you would expect a spirit to sound in the walls of your room. Every so often a creak would accompany the voice, and the words would pitch up for just a moment. But the next second, it was back to the low hum as before. You strained, stretching up on your tip toes as if that would help your hearing abilities.
You were just pondering waking Dolores' for her help when a sound caught your breath.
"Mierda."

Summary
Every few decades, somebody starts a rumor that the Wolf is coming. It's an old, familiar cry. Snow remembers hearing it from her father's castle, perched at the edge of the Black Forest. "The Wolf is coming, the Wolf is coming!"
Most of the time, the peasants in the villages around the castle saw a shaggy dog prowling through the woods, or maybe a wolf that was a little bigger than average. Snow doesn't think that the Big Bad Wolf ever actually came to her father's lands. Hunting in open field wasn't his style. But she remembers rushing to her window, searching the horizon eagerly, trying to catch a glimpse of the fabled monster.
The Wolf never came.
(or, after failing to find the Big Bad Wolf in 1638, Snow White is the Sheriff of Fabletown. It's a great job, really. Good hours, good pay, lots of community appreciation. This is definitely what Snow wanted to do with her life. Definitely.)
