Derek is literally wrapped around him, one heavy leg and one heavy arm pinning him tight to Derek‘s front.
Warm and steady breaths tickle the back of Stiles’ neck. He tries not to freak out and he wonders how he’s going to extract himself without waking Derek. He totally isn’t ready to face into this conversation.
Stiles stretches gently and Derek grumbles clutching him tighter in his sleep. Stiles tries not to yelp when Derek buries his face in the back of his neck.
Well fuck.
Stiles tries not to react, he really does, but he’s only a man. The heady smell of Derek is all around him and they’re both only in their boxers for heaven’s sake, what’s he meant to do?
He spares a thought that Derek probably undressed him, then he boxes that right back up to unpack later. Alone. In his own bed. Possibly with a hand on his dick.
Stiles wiggles a little, trying to lift Derek’s solid arm off his chest and he feels the moment he wakes up because Derek tenses.

He realises his mistake when the Sheriff looks between them both, head going back and forth between Stiles’ hand on Derek’s jacket and Derek’s face.
Derek can see his boss take in his hopeless smile and he quickly tries to arrange his face into a scowl but by the look on John’s face he’s no where near convincing.
You and him? John mouths at him, eyes narrowed.
Derek shakes his head, eyes wide and panicked.
“What?” Stiles asks them when he looks up from his phone, unaware of the silent communication between Derek and the Sheriff. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing Son. Derek, make sure nothing happens to him,” John says pointedly. “Derek... I approve. Of you going to the preserve first, I mean. It’s nice. That the preserve makes you so happy.”
The Sheriff gives him a thumbs up when Stiles looks down at his phone again.
Derek wants to punch himself in the face.
“Of course Sir. I... I really like the preserve. I want to keep it safe,” Derek bodily hustles Stiles toward the doorway, ears burning.
“When did you both become so environmentally conscious?” Stiles frowns suspiciously.
