Summary
“Beauregard – you said she is outside?” Essek half-turns in the direction of the front door. “Should we invite her in?”
It feels like there is something stuck in his throat. “In a moment. She is, ah – giving us some space.”
Essek turns back to stare at him. Repeats quietly, dangerously, “Space.”
Caleb forces himself to swallow. “Yes.”
Essek’s attention is a palpable thing now, sharp like a knife’s edge against his cheek. “Explain.”
One moment makes all the difference during the battle at Blumenthal. In the aftermath, the Nein grapple with what comes next.

Wulf takes the lead and dances him a few steps, tucks him into his chest and spins him loose, and Astrid is already on the other side of Bren, to take his hand delicately and carefully with her unbroken arm.
“You have gotten better,” she says. She reaches out to brush his face, hand still covered in viscera. He pulls her long glove off with his teeth.
After the gala, high on victory, it's all too easy to slip into one another.

Viktor had an undeniably strong moral compass. He didn’t condone violence, or inhumane acts for science, or war.

“What is there to understand?”
“Why would someone willingly get rid of their emotions?”
There are lots of reasons as to why someone would get rid of their emotions. Maybe they had met someone that made them feel special. That saw them for who they were and still loved them anyways. And then suddenly that person had betrayed them and their trust, so they had to leave the place they had come to call their home.
And now years later all they did was wonder if any of it had ever truly been real. So in the end they had sought it best to rid themselves of those pesky emotions that seemed to plague them wherever they went.

Summary
Even over the jeep's engine noise, Viktor heard Jayce’s stomach growl. He glanced over. “Hungry, Mr. Talis?”
Saying it had been a long time was a laughable, sad understatement. Jayce had played his fair share of sports in high school, lived in dorms throughout his years in university, and throughout his life had risked more than a few glances at plenty of the men he’d been attracted to—not like this though. None he’d ever seen mounting and straddling things, even on the lacrosse fields. There had been short shorts, yes. Never on a work site, never flashing hard, rosy nipples with no undershirt.
Viktor had faint scars from some sort of chest operation perhaps, one that Jayce would not ask him about because Jayce wasn’t rude and he was, surely, just hungry for food.
This was work, after all. His dream. He wasn’t some hopeless schoolboy, he was a physicist, damn it. Still up-and-coming, sure, but he’d made something of a name for himself for someone as important as Viktor to know who he was, that Heimerdinger had spoken highly of him and his work, had sent him here for work. With this man, and Jayce wasn’t going to screw it up all because Viktor just so happened to be the most attractive man he’d ever met.

Summary
Viktor clears his throat. “Jayden rucked up her skirts, revealing her milky pale thighs and soaking wet mound. ‘Oh, Defender of Tomorrow,’ Valencia whimpered, her bosoms heaving with the swaying of the carriage. ‘We are almost at the gala!’ ‘I don’t care,’ Jayden growled as he unbuttoned his trousers and whipped out twelve inches of his throbbing manhood. ‘I need you now—’”
“Oh my god, Viktor,” Jayce yells, lunging for the book. Viktor laughs and rolls backwards on the chair, keeping the book out of his grasp. “What the fuck—”
In which—to Jayce’s horror—someone is writing very popular, very raunchy, very unauthorized romance novels about Piltover’s newest celebrity, Jayce is not a virgin but it’s been so long since he got laid he might as well be, and Viktor is not a shirtless, muscular hero from the cover of a romance novel but that isn’t stopping Jayce from imagining him as one.

"Everything I remember from these dreams are real, but it's not shit I’ve ever known. Mark, how is this possible?”
“God, Felix, I have no idea,” Mark said, sounding helpless. “But it’s not like it’s hurting anyone, right? Even if these dreams are freakishly accurate, it’s not like they’re a bad thing.”
Except Felix could barely sleep, and when he did, he woke up sick and even more tired than he’d been before. His hands would shake constantly no matter what he put in them. He suddenly couldn’t stomach looking Jack in the eye. Maybe these dreams weren’t hurting anyone else, but Felix was scared they were starting to hurt him. “Yeah, they're fine,” he agreed with a strangled tone.
“They’re just dreams, Felix,” Mark assured him. “It’s all in your head.”

Summary
The stories say a siren's song is to be feared. They call it a curse, a death sentence.
They are wrong. The song is simply a beginning. The real danger is far softer, slower, and sweeter, a doom borne upon the siren's kiss.
Whatever the truth, Viktor has no cause for concern. For what would a siren want from a broken man like him, fleeing a lonely life in Piltover to another by the sea?
