I can feel it rising, this all encompassing feeling, this emotion I was so sure I would never feel again. Things are slow because I am trying not to just jump in without looking where I might land.”

“Not everything is about Sephiroth!” Genesis insisted irritably, just in time for the man’s arrival to be announced on the deck. Angeal watched as his friend pointed to the gathering crowd of SOLDIER and infantrymen. “I don’t know how he did that, but he did it on purpose!”
“Sure,” Angeal said flatly. “Organised his arrival with a multitude of people and adjusted his entire busy schedule just to do it in a way that would annoy you.”
“Exactly,” Genesis said, pushing himself off his crate and landing on his feet. “The nerve of him, truly.”
An unlikely friendship strikes up between Sephiroth and two new SOLDIER Third Classes.

In the silence of the stairwell, the noise that slipped from his traitorous throat practically echoed off the walls. There was enough heat in his cheeks that he felt like a furnace suddenly, his heart slamming so hard that he was absolutely sure he was going to have a cardiac event any moment now.
Especially given what was happening further down.
“Hello, SOLDIER.” Genesis should rethink the kitten comment if he was going to purr like that. “If that was what you wanted, you could have just said so.”
In which Sephiroth discovers some new things about himself, one of them being that apparently he has some new maintenance requirements.
