Mankind learnt the hard way; standing amidst crumbling slabs of concrete, tattered posters of a religion paving their descent to ruin. God is with us, God is with us; still they murmured, as black smoke tainted the burning horizon with soot and grime, as the underside of spaceships became the new sky. God has come to smite us down, they cried; God sees no worth in us anymore. They writhed and they whined in their web, gazing into the belly of a beast.

When Lonsdaleite first steps into the water, he watches as the pale powder coating his body swirls into fine lines atop the ocean surface, revealing the stone underneath. He isn’t the brightest, but his composition is unique. Not even Master Adamant has seen anything like him. But still, since he isn’t the most beautiful gem in existence. he tends not to think about his lustre. Purple Diamond is practically glowing wherever they go, reflecting light all over their delicate features. They’re the brightest gem Lonsdaleite has ever seen, and he’s seen plenty. In the water, they glow differently. Lonsdaleite can see rainbows reflected in them, forming a pretty picture.
He can’t believe he’s graced with such a sight. They’re beautiful, and they’re nothing like him.

Summary
Suguru cries for hours; until his voice is no more. He is the last to leave, even as his parents pat his back and tell him that they have to retire for the night, even as police officers and first-aid workers and all relevant personnel come and go. He stays until the sun rises, and the search team finally resurfaces from the depths of the ocean with Satoru’s body.
He leaves before he can see Satoru’s corpse.
Suguru knows he won’t be able to stop his guts spilling out of his mouth if he does.

If Satoru focused, he could hear the soft response of a yes drifting through the silent air. Both he and Suguru seek fairness on opposite sides of the spectrum. “So,” he continues, watching as blood beads on his face and taints soft skin, “all sorcerers must die to make all humans equal. You’re wrong, Suguru. We are the anomaly. We have to go so they stand a chance. It doesn’t matter if it hurts. It doesn’t matter if we’re going against this script.”
or: satoru decides that suguru was wrong and the solution to end sorcerer suffering is actually the opposite: all sorcerers must die so that all humans are equal against curses and cursed energy.
