Mike's under-eye muscle twitched.
"This guy is saying a lot of crazy things, yet his tone is calm," Lucas muttered from somewhere in the background. He cleared his throat, followed by some shuffling. "What the fuck is this. Will, do you know that guy?"
"Uh," Will rasped, looking down at the man at his feet. "No? I don't—Um. Are you..okay?"
Answer: The man was fucking crazy and he should not be putting his lips anywhere near Will's vicinity, and he should get the hell out of here. Seriously, what kind of guy steps out of a bush and then kisses someone's hand? What the hell was he thinking?
Or, Mike Wheeler has a very stressful night. An alternate version of himself is driving him up the wall, Will is way too okay with it, and his friends are downright insane.

He's in his bed in Montreal, tangled in sheets that are damp with sweat, his heart hammering so hard it hurts. The room is dark and quiet and wrong, because Ilya isn't here, Ilya is in Ottawa, two hours away, and Shane's hands are shaking as he grabs for his phone on the nightstand.
His fingers fumble with the screen. It's 3:17 AM. He should... he shouldn't do this. Ilya has practice tomorrow. Today. In the morning. Shane knows this because they'd texted about it yesterday, before the Bears-Centaurs game, before Ilya had taken that nasty check in the second period that Shane had watched on his laptop with his stomach in knots, before Shane had gone to bed alone like he does most nights, before his subconscious decided to torture him with the worst thing it could conjure.
He stares at Ilya's contact. The photo is from months ago, Ilya grinning at something off-camera, eyes bright, so impossibly alive that Shane's throat closes up.
He needs to hear his voice. Just. Just to know he's okay. Just for a second.
When Shane has a nightmare about Ilya getting injured, he phones his boyfriend. Ilya returns the call, and so much more.
