Summary
Claire Wodylack is the fifth girl Steve has gone out with since they polished off the Upside Down and life went back to semi-normal. Well, really she was the ninth, if you counted the girls he’d been stood up by as well. He has no idea when he lost his mojo, but all of a sudden dating feels like a goddamn chore, and if it weren’t for the existential dread that follows him around chanting, “You’re alone! Alone! Alone!” he would probably just give up and remain single and celibate for the remainder of his miserable life.
It’s just, he really doesn’t want to be alone. And maybe he’s not, at least not totally, but he can’t help but feel like… like something’s missing.

Summary
It wasn't enough for Steve that he managed to get Eddie out of the Upside Down. He felt like it was his fault Eddie came that close to death - so he's keeping him close by and making sure he heals fully, along with making sure his name is cleared and he finally graduates high school.
Eddie is just happy to have made it out alive and feels like Steve is doing more for him than he could ever repay.

Summary
The almost constant presence of Steve was hard-wiring Eddie's brain to sit constantly at a state of half horny half stupid. Sometimes he couldn't hide the frustrated grunt that shot out of him as he banged his head on the counter. It happened whenever Steve walked past with his stupid ruddy cheeks doing something dashing and noble and endearing himself even more to that really weak part of Eddie's psyche.
So far in the last few days since they had set up, he had been a witness too, in no discernible order a thousand tiny acts of Harrington heroics and each and every one of them is causing him to question the very basis of his moral fibre.

A comforting presence after everything went to shit.
So Eddie was now in a battle with himself. He was no master of subterfuge, wearing his heart on his sleeve was just who he was. So he was almost positive that Steve knew.

Nil is there, crouched a short distance away from her tent. He is naked before her, the metal embedded in his flesh gleaming in the moonlight. He is facing away from her, covered in blood, rending the flesh and sinew from the bones of an already dead man. She slowly takes in the bodies at his feet, scattered around her makeshift camp. When she turns back to Nil, his sharp silver gaze meets hers.
Nil drops the remains in his hands, turning slowly on his heel to face her completely. The soft, green glow of the luminescent wires buried in his skin pulse with the pounding of his heartbeat. A beat that is in perfect sync with hers. She can’t break away from his gaze, its intensity bringing a flush to her skin, and the man crawls forward toward her, slowly.
“Nil…” she breathes.
“No one will ever touch you,” is all he says, and his hands wrap around her ankles and pull.
