absolutely incredible. i cried very much towards the end. the emphasis of love as something that makes us better, that caring for someone is one of the best parts of a person? the separation of sexuality from affection? i also really enjoyed how there was no crisis of sexuality.
in total, a genuinely lovely story about two people who love each other in a way they refuse to accept as wrong. it is gentle and sweet and emphasizes connection and just, wow.

This is the story of those thirty years in the middle.

Dean blinks and swallows the food in his mouth, staring at Cas curiously. "I would think...you were either on drugs or going insane, why?"
"I'm not inebriated, nor mentally unstable."
"I—I…" Dean takes in a deep breath, then blows it out heavily. "Cas, you're not fucking with me, are you?"
"I'm not," Cas tells him.
"Okay," he says, "fuck it, let's get hitched."
"Thank you," Cas murmurs sincerely, then picks his fork back up and goes right back to eating.

I REALLY ENJOYED THE CHARACTERIZATION OF SPOCK IN THIS ONE. spock as a genuine idealist was lovely to read — and him and kirk not butting heads but rather meshing quite nicely was refreshing in an AOS-based story. fascinating political subplot! even if i am 100% team utopian starfleet, this political setting was interesting.

Deadpool does a better job understanding Spider-Man's strengths and limitations as an autistic super than pretty much anyone else does. This doesn't stop Peter from getting involved with a cult while investigting a series of suicide bombers. He's just that much of a disaster, autistic or not.
I play fast and loose with canon but try to stay true to (what I perceive to be) the spirit of the characters. Note that neither Peter nor Wade are based on any movie versions.

Plenty of people had looked down on Eggsy throughout his life. He had gotten fairly used to it. Didn't mean it was fair, but he knew how these things worked. What really sucked was that the new Arthur was worse than the old one.
“Eggsy grimaced. He didn’t know how to explain to Harry – who seemed like he hadn’t been discriminated against a day in his life – that the new Arthur kept giving him what amounted to suicide missions, and that he was currently bleeding out in a warehouse because of the deliberately bad intel she had given him.”
Also featuring: Dean is harder to get rid of than Eggsy thought, his mum is going off the deep end, there are way too many nefarious plots in play, and Eggsy is really beginning to wish that Harry would stop holding his hand and kiss him instead.

arthur has been replaced with a woman who seems to hate eggsy for no good reason — eggsy is proficient in torture and the psychological indications and aftermath of the fact — pursuing the custody of his sister — the birth of his relationship with harry (and how healthy, really, is it? how much like his mother is he?)very good. cohesive, despite all of the plot threads. meaningful commentary on many issues. engages with classism in england meaningfully.
