Summary
The fog comes back.
Nothing else has found its way into their safe little haven yet, but the fog does, creeping through the cracks of their cabin, blanketing them in thick, heavy billows.
Jon is there every time, he's there to pull Martin back when he gets lost, bleary eyes and hands so transparent Jon's fingers glide right through when he reaches for them.
"Martin", he says, forcing a shaky smile on his lips as he tries to hold onto the warmth Martin's name elicits in him. "Martin? Come on. Come back to me."
"Jon?" His name echoes, the mist thickening.
"Yes", Jon says emphatically. "I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere without you. You're not alone anymore, Martin, remember?"
Martin blinks, something sparking up in his eyes, but the cold fog sets heavily around them, blurring Jon's vision.
"No!" Jon reaches out, won't let himself lose sight of Martin ever again, he won't let him slip away. "No, you can't have him!" he yells into the cold white all around. "He's not yours to claim!"
~oOo~
Or, the one where Jon and Martin try to find what happiness they can, despite the Lonely looming, the Eye watching, and their own doubts weighing them down.

Summary
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ, son of God, came to Earth, against the predictions of dozens of prominent religious scholars, on the relatively normal day of June 21st 2024, four months before the Earth's 6028th birthday. It was raining in London. The M25 was backed up. The Tube was late arriving to one station, and early arriving to another. Tourists took pictures at all the places that tourists enjoy taking pictures at.
Then, precisely at 5:32 pm, the clouds parted from above and the Heavenly Host descended from the sky, not just in London, but all over the world, and they spake as one:
Your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has returned to Earth. Find him and heed his words, for Armageddon will come for You. You have four months to renounce Yourselves of Sin and accept the Goodness of God, or be cast aside when the Earth and Heaven become as One in Eternal Paradise
And with a faint bubble-like *pop*, they disappeared.
The Son of God was found five days later.
By the next day, he was verified on all platforms.

Parties, Gerry reflects, are awful social constructs and should be abandoned at any cost. He doubts that even a follower of the Buried would be able to host a party more claustrophobic than this. Even the music is oppressively loud and the amount of avatars in his field of vision is simply obscene. Surely there can’t be this many people who like Simon Fairchild enough to attend.
or: Michael drags Gerry along to be his plus one for Simon Fairchild's birthday party. Things don't quite go as planned. (Unless you're Annabelle Cane, in which case this worked out brilliantly.)

Aziraphale was gentle as began to gather her hair behind her back. It was far more intimate an act than he had anticipated. They barely ever touched, and now here he was with his fingers in her hair and ghosting over her skin. He was careful as he sectioned the hair for a simple braid, her styled curls were hardened by hairspray but Aziraphale was nothing if not patient.
"It's been a long time since you've had long hair," he said, just to fill the air.
"Ah— well, it's always easier to look like a man. I only change when I can't stand it."
"Can't stand it?"
"Yeah, you know— when it feels wrong? Well, it feels wrong more often then I change but when it feels awful to be seen as a man."

Alternatively, an AU in which Gertrude begins to work on her theories about the rituals much, much earlier, and Gerry finds himself chasing the mystery that is Michael Shelley.
