Those beautiful eyes widen, but you turn before you can see anything else.

It’s pleading, almost instinctive. The first word he’s spoken without certainty all afternoon. The first you have ever heard him say like that in all the years you have known him.
Growing up was never supposed to feel so extraordinary. There are summer festivals and childhood promises, first loves and first heartbreaks, villains who arrive too early and heroes who never know how to stay, and that impossible little hope that some things might just remain forever.
Your quirk can make the world remember what it once was. If only people were as easy.
Perhaps, memories are living things — they change every time they’re remembered. Perhaps, forever was never the promise.
