Summary
Merlin twisted the handle, something he hadn’t thought of doing all this time. Ever since the voice called out to him, telling him of his predicament. It was so simple, there was no way it would work. The handle dipped and Merlin heard the faintest click sound from it. His brain numbed, all the anticipation and agony that had built up for so long disappearing in an instant. The strength he felt in his pursuit for freedom was lost. His near lame arms pulled the door open without his brain's knowledge, the light of the outside world pouring into the small room. The light was natural, in stark contrast to the bare lifelessness of the fluorescent man made lights that decorated his prison.
