“Oh, no.” Phil raises his eyes with a sharp glare. “Believe me, I have my own way of preventing the apocalypse.”

Or, Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy are basically chaotic forces of nature, destined from birth to end the world and bring destruction. Most who hear of the tale of them are trying their best to track them down, and to end the monsters while they’re still young, still just children.
Phil has a different plan.
(In which Phil raises the minecraft equivalents of the anti-christ with love and support, so much so to the point where the world ending is really just a funny thought, and Phil has three kids who casually have powers that are bit more extreme than anything else in the world)

“Grow up,” Siren said, his voice slick as it always had been, cold.
Seven years later, Wilbur was staring at Tommy in disbelief, his hand clutched to his stomach as he felt Tommy’s pain. His legs gave out from under him, onto the same floor Tommy had silently almost-died on, and cried out in desperation. “Tommy! Tell me it didn’t hurt this much for you!”
Tommy sighed sadly, his lungs tight, “I tried to tell you. You told me to grow up.”
And Wilbur remembered.-
Or, Tommy and Wilbur get their powers swapped. And the SBI discovers just how painful Tommy’s powers really are.

He shook his head furiously, choked sobs forcing their way out of his mouth as he shuffled backwards, hands scrabbling on the gravel and cutting into his palms. He didn’t notice the pain, too hopped up on adrenaline and fear to recognise it.
Without his permission, a chirp managed to escape, almost masked by his cries and incomprehensible pleading.
Almost masked.
Zephyrus paused in his approach, tensing at the sound and staring at Tommy, straightening up to his full height.
Tommy’s breathing became more frantic with the realisation that the man had heard. He knew now. That wasn’t good, that wasn’t safe. They were going to hurt him, they were going to kill him, Tommy didn’t want to die.
A coo reached his ears, the sound dancing on the wind. Safe-calm-protected.
Or
Tommy is an avian hybrid training to be a hero. A wrench is thrown into his plans when he meets the Syndicate leader Zephyrus, and for some reason, his instincts seem to adore him. The feeling is mutual, so now Tommy has to try and live life while yearning for a family of supervillains that are actively trying to kidnap him.

In the middle of the destruction stands a man with pitch black wings big enough to stretch all the way across the wide hallway. And he’s looking straight at Tommy.
Tommy’s breath hitches in his throat and his knees almost buckle under the weight of his terror. He takes a shaky step backwards, suddenly hoping that Punz would still be after him, but he’s managed to lose the man in the maze of hallways, and now the hybrid looks at him and says something but Tommy can’t hear him over these goddamn sirens and oh god, he just wanted to find Dream–
Or: Tommy, an avian, doesn't know of life outside the laboratory. It's the only home he's ever had. So when Phil breaks in and takes four abused hybrid kids to a safehouse, he's surprised to see that one of them isn't at all happy to be saved.
(Or: lab-themed sbi hurt/comfort. I'm a sucker for angst with a happy ending.)

Summary
The boy standing in the mirror wasn’t Wilbur.
He blinked a few times, and the boy in the mirror did too. He lifted a hand, with the stranger doing the same. When he flipped the reflection off, the bony and bruised hand flipped him off in return.
“This isn’t me,” Wilbur whispered in the stranger’s voice, the reflection mouthing the words in time with him.
This wasn’t him and yet the reflection in the mirror was telling him it was. The boy had curly blonde hair that was styled similarly to Wilbur’s, except the fringe wasn’t nearly as long. Wide set blue eyes stared at him, and after a moment of being frozen, he squeezed them shut, wondering if his reflection would be back to normal when he opened them.
His eyes blinked open, and he saw he was still blonde and blue-eyed. Fuck.
or, Wilbur is bored of the monotony of his life in a small town, and wishes for a new life. Meanwhile, Tommy is tired of the isolation that comes with living in the city, and wonders what it would be like to have a closer family.
Neither one meant they wanted to start swapping bodies.

or, SBI are actors on a sitcom, and of course, they play a happy family- unfortunately for Tommy, the lines between fact and fiction are easily blurred and hard to define.

“Uh— Phil?” The man calls over his shoulder, golden eyes never leaving Tommy’s face, “I need your help over here.”
Tommy bares his teeth, wings fluttering threateningly. He doesn’t want the man to get help, he wants him to go away.
Another man steps into view. This one is short and blonde, with wings a hundred times bigger than Tommy’s, and he’s dressed just as nice as the first man. He hasn’t seen Tommy yet; he’s looking at the big pink one. Mouth open like he’s going to speak.
Tommy hisses again, louder this time. And the man's head snaps towards him— which doesn’t scare Tommy. He doesn’t shrink back, doesn’t try to tuck away his wings with a whine. Because he’s big. He’s big and scary; nothing is scarier than him and he knows it, because he says it.
“Oh,” The man says softly, expression falling at his eyes dart across Tommy’s face. “Oh, mate.”

Summary
Tommy seems pale and drawn, like a person stepping up to the gallows, as he enters the booth to sing. His hands don’t shake, but it feels disingenuous of Wilbur to look at that as a ray of light in everything. The group of them watch from behind the one way glass as Tommy steps up to the microphone. His eyes fall closed and they don’t open back up.
When he sings, it’s such a wail of pain that Wilbur’s sure by the end that Tommy will drop to his knees and heave.
He doesn’t. Almost by miracle, Tommy’s standing when he's finished, and with a creased, ruined expression and a torn heart, he steps back from the mic and walks out like it was nothing.
There’s silence, then –
“Holy shit,” Schlatt says, and yeah. That just about sums it all up.
Or, Tommy is a young pop artist going on tour - he holds auditions for his touring band and ends up getting not just a band, but a family. It's just -- he doesn't seem to know that. (based around Olivia Rodrigo's album Sour)

Summary
Tommy lets out a disgruntled meow, though he doesn't fight Wilbur as the two cuddle up together, wrapped in one another’s arms, small stuttering purrs building up in their chests.
Tommy relaxes, letting his exhaustion and sleepiness wash over him as rain starts to pour from outside. Thunder accompanies it, yet it's mostly drowned out by Wilbur’s purr, as the older cat buries his face in Tommy’s fur, the two settling down to the constant sound of rain hitting the roof.
It was nice, and Wilbur is warm, his purr lulling him to sleep, making his mind go all fuzzy as he curls in closer to the cat.
Or Tommy is a cat shifter who runs into the stray cat Wilbur, and decides that he was going to befriend him no matter what.

“Because,” Tommy grumbles, sitting up, eyeing Techno carefully, “Appearances and shit, I dunno, Wilbur’s reasons are stupid.” He says, watching as Techno starts to try and preen his feathers.
His instincts rear up in the back of his head, and he pulls his wing away jerkily, moving to a crouching position. Techno lets his wing go without a fight, watching as the golden feathers disappear from his hands.
Or Tommy ends up befriending Techno, a dangerous god, just to spite Wilbur.

That was the first thing Phil noticed. He– Wilbur, he faintly recalled– isn’t a student in this class. He is supposed to be in his Monday afternoon lecture.
“Hello, sir,” Wilbur said, twisting his hands. He looked like he was about to throw up. Phil took a small step back.
“Hey! How can I help you?”
Wilbur wasn’t a particularly bad student, nor was he a very good one. He barely spoke up in class and he never stayed after to ask him a question. A solid B- student that kept to himself.
“I– um, well I was wondering,” Wilbur stuttered. He took a deep breath and locked his eyes on the floor. “Would it be okay if my brother sat in with me during your classes?”

Phil decides to say yes when Wilbur asks if his brother can sit in on class. He hopes he doesn't regret it.

"You chose us, and you keep us here and you never fucking come back! Who's it gonna be next, huh? After you're done playing with Ranboo?"
Phil's eyes narrow. "Tommy, you're being immature. Foster care is not a permanent thing, you know that-"
"Then let me leave! I don't- I can't-" Tommy cuts off, chest heaving. When he speaks again, it's steady and slow, the same tone he used when speaking with Ranboo all those mornings ago. Ranboo cringes at the thought that Tommy had been this angry whenever he interacted with him. "I am fine. I have been fine without you for quite some time now, Phil, so don't think you're doing me this glorious favor by keeping me here. You don't get to just keep stringing me along and leaving at every shiny new troubled kid that comes through your door. Either sign the fucking adoption papers or let. Me. Leave."
"I'm leaving. I'll wait out the fucking deadline, and then you'll never hear from me again."
