The woman’s eyes widened, and her hand reached out, not quite touching Rumi, but close. “Not that you’re not beautiful, because wow, you-” She stopped, a look of realisation crossed her face “-I mean, no, wait, no, you are beautiful, but I wasn’t hitting on you, I have a girlfriend-”
Rumi ignored her chest squeezing.
“-A stunning girlfriend, Mira. I mentioned her, right? My girlfriend Mira-” The woman stopped abruptly and lowered her head down into her arms. “Jeez, Zoey, stop rambling at the deaf woman.” It was muffled, but Rumi heard it.
Silenced by grief, Rumi’s world is transformed when she crosses paths with Mira and Zoey, who guide her toward a voice she thought was lost forever.

"I have not! I'm just making an observation!"
"..yeah im with Ye-jun, Chae you feeling okay? Do you have a headache?" Eun-chae groaned frustratedly, trying to find the words to explain her point.
"Look, Professor Zoey's dating someone who can both cook gourmet meals and burn food till its charcoal. It's either or, you can't do both! And plus, we've never even seen this so-called wife. Not even a picture!" Ye-jun sighed, bringing his hand to his forehead as if the conversation was giving him a headache, maybe it actually was.

There was the sound of the door shutting. A few footsteps.
“She’s not here?” the voice asked.
Zoey dropped her voice lower, almost conspiratorial. “No. She went out—probably won’t be back for, like… fifteen, twenty minutes.”
A beat of silence. Then a quiet chuckle. “Good. Then I can steal you for a while.”
There was a nervous little hiccup of laughter from Zoey. “Wait—don’t get too close, I’m still live—”
“I’ll stay out of frame,” the voice promised, tone coaxing.
The sound of a hand brushing fabric, then a soft shuffle—the mic catching the rustle as Zoey was pulled slightly sideways. A faint smack of lips meeting. Quick. Too quick to be mistaken.
Chat slowed to a crawl.

Summary
The DEO building still stands, an unchanged monolith ten blocks from L Corp. It’s busier than ever, the logo proudly emblazoned over the front doors, covert status abandoned years earlier as aliens became more common. Kara settles on a bench in front of the building, nose wrinkling at the bustle of suited agents and analysts buzzing around inside. She pulls her glasses away after a long moment and stares through the walls and pillars to the center elevator shaft in the lobby, the last one to go up during the rebuild after the Worldkiller attacks. Behind the elevator car, dug into the concrete of the shaft walls, is her handprint and signature, surrounded by Alex’s, and J’onn’s, Sam and Ruby and Lena and Lucy and James and Winn.
They’re all still there, deep in the heart of the building.

Summary
Rumi had learned a long time ago that her body was… more resilient than the average human. She wasn't invincible. Her body still bent and broke and popped and bled in an irritatingly human way sometimes. However she tended to heal at a supernatural rate. A broken arm healed in a matter of minutes. A gash closed over in a handful of seconds. The honmoon helped to speed up the healing of its hunters, but not to this level. Not to this extreme.
Still, the first time Rumi gets hit by a bus she is immensely grateful that 1) it is her and not one of her girls that was hit, 2) her demon healing has already started to repair her snapped spine as she careens through the air and 3) that Zoey and Mira are still in the alley way and won't have to watch this happen.

Summary
Zoey had always enjoyed putting things together.
From building Lego sets with her older brother in his room. To replacing car parts with her father on a Tuesday morning in July. To lazy evenings sat at the coffee table piecing together a jigsaw puzzle with her mom. There was a certain satisfaction Zoey found in going from a thousand splintered pieces to a finished product.
Huntrix is a fractured mess in the wake of Gwi-ma’s defeat. The tenuous relationship they’d started in the back third of the world tour was straining at the edges and threatening to buckle under the weight of their individual betrayals.
On the surface everything seemed fine - they were professionals after all. From the outside not a single hair or emotion was out of place. No faults to exploit, no fears to be shown.
But they were still cowards, still liars.
And Zoey isn’t sure if she knows how to fix the broken pieces of her heart.

But here's a secret she'll never tell, and only one other person in the entire world knows it: Rumi wishes she could breathe.
Wishes don't often come true in the way you want them to however, as Rumi meets two girls beneath the heat of the summer that take her breath away until the seasons turn into spring. It won't be until a long day under the sun and a longer night beneath the moon and stars that the air she's needed for ten years finally gets put back into her lungs as two pairs of hands take her own with the promise that they'll never let go.

The fur feels the way it always had beneath her fingers. Pressed down over the years, but still soft. Revered in a way. Never played with because playing with it would ruin it. Would make it ugly and broken which are all the things Mi-yeong was not.
It doesn't feel very soft when she throws it.
Some part of her is almost disappointed by the lack of a reaction. It doesn't shatter like a plate. Doesn't explode into a load of stuffing. It just plops onto the ground next to her balcony door. Lifeless eyes pointed towards the carpet.
Something about it makes her feel worse.

"So, Rumi," Zoey's mother begins, so sweet and benign and unaware of the massive headache she was about to gracefully bestow upon Rumi. "Are you seeing anyone?"
It's an innocent question. Just one of those things that parents ask their daughter's friends. She asks it while Rumi helps herself to a delectable serving of galbi jjim, piling cuts of the meat onto her plate, and Rumi almost fumbles her chopsticks and drops a piece.
It's just a yes or no question.
Rumi, however, stops and very eloquently says: "Um."
OR: When Zoey's cousin invites all three of them to California for his wedding, Zoey is forced to navigate her and Rumi's newly-found feelings for each other while staying at her parents' house for four days. Zoey's trying not to explode, Rumi is an awkward, blushing mess, and Mira thinks it's the funniest shit ever. Will they manage to survive Costco, nosy family members in a backyard barbecue, a bachelor party, and the wedding day itself?
