She could not face them yet. She didn’t know what language she could use to tell them how sorry she was. She did not know if there were words that could bare her soul that would allow them to forgive her. She didn’t think she had the strength to even try.

Summary
Zoey was nervous. She was sitting in the corner of her room, in her mother’s apartment in Korea. It was 3:25 AM. She wasn’t sleepy—her head was full of thoughts. She lifted her hands, placed them on her head, and took several deep breaths. On the screen was the email to send her demo and see if she could be selected. She let out a laugh—if she sent it, she had nothing to lose. If they didn’t call her, she’d just go on with her life and never have to mention it again. But… what if they *did* call her? She bit her lip. Even if they did, it didn’t mean anything, she thought. She would just have to show up in person before the one and only Celine from Sunlight Sisters and see if she was selected for the K-pop group she was forming.
“Screw it,” she said as she hit “send.” When the confirmation appeared, her lip finally split and she tasted blood.

Summary
Rumi sucks in a breath, releasing her shoulders to the best of her ability. She spreads her fingers wide in the carpet in front of her, claws extending before she sheepishly pulls them back. Mira and Zoey watch the display with an unreadable expression when Rumi eventually offers:
”So what do you want to know?”
Mira leans up with a lethal grace, her face inches from Rumi as she searches the half-demon’s gaze.
"I want to know how it was so easy for you to lie to us.”

Shame, it turns out, should not be hand fed. Rumi learns that the hard way when her patterns refuse to fade after the Honmoon is sealed. She thought fulfilling a ritual bigger than herself might finally make her lovable. Maybe even whole. But the aftermath is murkier than she expected.
Defeating Gwi-Ma should’ve been cause for celebration. And yet the girls who fought side by side can hardly look each other in the eye. Lies sit heavy, grief lingers, and nothing feels quite like it should. Follow Rumi, Mira, and Zoey as they try to piece together what’s left between them, even as something more demonic, more aching claws its way out from deep inside Rumi.

There’s a part of Yelena that is acutely aware that she is not, in fact, okay.
She knows, in the back of her mind, that she has people she can contact, somewhere she can go, steps she can take that are actually forward instead of blindly stumbling laterally at best.
But, an even bigger part of her weighs down on the rest of her mind, bemoaning the effort, shrinking away from the vulnerability and the shame she’d feel crawling back after months of radio silence.
Valentina promised one last job and things will get better.
She just has to make it through one last job.
(Thunderbolts with a bit more family, some more pain, a bit more softness, and even more focus on mental health).
