Summary
A companion piece to the TV show, this is everything that should/would have happened between Garak and Bashir on DS9 if the 90s had been ready for it. Each work is situated in or around the events of an episode of the show.
Early works *should* make enough sense as stand-alone short stories to be read as such, especially for DS9 fans familiar with the episodes they happen in/around, but reading chronologically will offer the reader a richer view of their evolving relationship. Later works increasingly rely on understanding the larger arc to make much sense.

He doesn’t realize he’s doing it at first, just keeps defaulting to Steve’s steady, no-bullshit certainty, like a lost dog instinctively following the one person who actually knows where they’re going. When it finally clicks—when Steve, gentle but firm, asks if this is what Bucky wants—Bucky, embarrassed as all hell, admits yeah, maybe he wants to belong to someone who actually gives a shit about him to make the calls
Steve can do the gentle Dom thing, sure. He's a Captain, after all.
