“Well,” the man starts again, like none of that just passed through Rudo’s head, like he didn’t almost bolt across the table. He clears his throat, then flashes a small, easy smile. “Guess introductions are in order.”
Rudo doesn’t return it.
“Name’s Enjin,” he says. “I work with foster care and CPS. I take care of kids in situations like yours.”
The words land heavy. Cold. They sink into Rudo’s chest like stones dropped into water, the ripple slow but suffocating.
Cps.
Rudo’s grip on the stuffed animal tightens.
There’s no one left to take care of him.
Understanding settles in, sharp and absolute.
He’s going back into the system.
(Or: After the mysterious death of his father, Rudo is put into a foster home and learns what it means to heal and be loved.)

As Black Hook continues to look over the injury, Heavy Iron's eyes flicker to the other man's face, studying him skeptically. More specifically the fact that there is a small stream of blood from under the eyepatch.
Black Hook must have noticed becuase his hand is immediately coming up to reflexively touch it. His expression remains cool and unreadable as he meets the other's gaze, a hint of a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips again.
"Don't worry about me, love." he says, the pet name rolling off his tongue without thinking. He begins to rummage through his pockets, searching for something. "I'll manage. You're the one bleeding like a stuck pig."
Heavy Iron's eyebrow quirks briefly at the unexpected use of the term of endearment, but he quickly recovers and gives a weak scoff.

“Four thousand… impossible. Machina was destroyed one thousand years ago.”
“Machina? ...I am from Cybertron. Have you heard of such a planet?”
“No.” The flier cocked his helm. “...I think there has been a misunderstanding. You do not look like a Metal Cardbot.”
“I most certainly am not that.”

Jun grins at the question, "It's for my mom! It's Mother's Day today, so I'm getting a gift for her!" Now that he thinks about it, do Cardbots have parents? He knows that Red Blitz calls Gigantrex his dad, but that's only after they arrived on Earth.
"Do Cardbots have parents?" The rumbles of Heavy Iron's engine stall for a second too long, but Jun didn't notice it. "No." Jun balks for a moment. Cause if not, then where do Cardbots come from?
"…For the most part."
Jun blinked before grinning, "So you do have parents!"
Heavy Iron huffs in annoyance, seemingly uncomfortable with the topic. "Not conventionally. Most of the time, it's closer to an apprenticeship than anything."
(Or in which, Heavy Iron holds too much secrets and trauma about the million years long war he was forced into from the day he existed so he traumadumps on the 14 year old child he tried to murder once)
