“The sidewalk rule. It’s a thing.” Chris sighs, like his dad is the most clueless person to walk the earth. And at this moment, he feels like it. “At least it’s sort of a thing. I’ve seen it on TikTok.”
Eddie hates Tiktok with every fiber of his being and only half of it is because he’s an old man who doesn’t understand trendy new social media and he’s bitter about it. Still, he bites. “What?” He repeats.
Chris looks at him, part annoyed and part are you serious, now. “You know. The sidewalk rule. Where you walk on the side of the pavement near the road, instead of your partner. And if they are, you move so you’re exposed instead. To, like, protect them.” Chris is explaining it like you would to a toddler, and Eddie both appreciates and hates it. But he’s smirking. He knows exactly what’s going on.
