Summary
Nagito Komaeda had a complicated relationship with cemeteries.
On one hand, being reminded of death brought him some hope, because it made him think about the fact that his life was only temporary. Eventually, he would die, and everyone would finally be happy. His luck would stop hurting people. He would stop hurting people. It would all be over.
On the other hand, thinking about death also meant thinking about the fact that, unless something drastically changed, he would die the same way he’d lived for the majority of his life. Alone. He’d come to terms with this, but that didn’t mean he particularly liked thinking about it.
Nagito had avoided going to cemeteries as much as he possibly could ever since he was a small child. He didn’t want to think about his feelings towards them. They were confusing and loud. And yet here he stood at 4:00 AM in front of the biggest graveyard in the city, home to hundreds whose lives had been taken by The Tragedy and hundreds more who had died prior to it.

Nagito visits the cemetery for the first time in years. He expects, as always, to be alone. He isn't.

Hajime couldn’t give an exact incident. There was never really an ‘inciting event’ that struck alarm bells when it came to stuff like this, but a gradual build-up of crumbs and morsels of conversation. They began to spell out a phrase in Hajime’s mind in a font that just became larger and larger.
‘There’s something wrong with Nagito’ – that was it, but what that ‘thing’ was still remained up for debate. At least, that’s what Hajime kept telling himself.
Any alternative made his insides twist themselves into knots.

Komaeda Nagito was in remission, everything in his life going better than it ever had. So the logical conclusion would be to be happy for all he'd managed to achieve, right?
Though, at this moment, Nagito felt like he really hadn’t achieved much at all. Not when he was curled up on his bathroom floor, the waistband of his jeans cutting into his stomach, the fabric on his shirt sticking to his skin in a way that felt entirely wrong.

To put it in plain English, Nagito Komaeda hates himself. He's felt this way for years upon years and at this point, it's routine for others and himself to constantly bring him down. He can also thank those others for always moving him around from school to school for his whole life. Nagito may have the talent of luck on his side, but all that his luck has done up to this point, is make his life a living hell.
Hajime Hinata on the other hand, is living the usual domestic highschooler life. Though his mom did leave him and his dad at an early age, he's slowly learned to depend on others to come out victorious.
