“Wait,” Robin called after her. “I’ll go with you.”
Nancy froze. Slowly, she turned around. “What?”

Summary
"I am not sure what I want," El says, and she sits with that for just a moment because she can feel there is more to it than she is prepared to unpack. "I want to find Max. I want to find Vecna. I have to save her and I have to kill him."
That is all she knows right now. She mourns the summer when Max and her suddenly became friends, and she stayed over at a friends house and tried on new clothes and lied to her dad because that's what teenage girls do. She mourns what could have been if she and Max had knew each other before then, if her childhood wasn't lost and Max lived in Hawkins. But, she supposes, that's what that summer was - that lost part of her, Max helped her find it; losing Max feels like losing it all over again, and that is why she has to find her.

Henry was standing right in front of her now, and even though he knew he was smarter than this, than to fall into Eleven's trap: she was only saying what she thought he'd want to hear, to save her friend's life. There was a part of him — a naive part — that still saw her as that nine-year-old kid who he once considered a friend. Even after she betrayed him, and turned him into this, Henry once... cared for her (and that was a mistake.)
But the way Eleven was looking at him held more than an indication of a desperate attempt to stall Max's death. She looked at him with what looked like sincerity in her eyes, the way a nine-year-old Eleven used to look at her favorite Friendly Orderly, before things reached the point of no return between them.
"You're not a monster, Henry." Eleven said, a tear rolled down her cheek. "Not to me."
