Summary
Set in “the real world,” it’s just a normal day for Grian as he goes to visit Scar before work at the local restaurant. But when he finds an enormous egg on an abandoned property, things change drastically, because of course he picks up the shiny thing and takes it home.
Welcome back to what is now (I guess) the third annual Halloween Hermitcraft fic! And this year, I have a special surprise—an upload schedule! I will be posting a chapter every five days, starting on the 1st and ending on the 31st. The dates are as follows: 1st, 6th, 11th, 16th, 21st, 26th, and the 31st. (Seven chapters in total, for those who don’t want to math.)
For the DPCU fans, I have a fic in the works. Not sure when I’ll publish it, due to Inktober/the Halloween fic, and then NaNo afterward, but I’ll get it out at some point, don’t worry.

Grian has an unfortunate connection to the darker side of magic. When he leaves his hometown, this curse becomes a blessing and he begins ghost hunting with a small company to put food on the table.
But thanks to a relic smashed by a particularly unforgiving poltergeist, hybrids are unleashed into the world after hundreds of years of existence only in mythos.
It's only Grian who remembers that they are not quite as ancient as the world likes to think.

Jimmy froze and watched as the nervous glances jumped over the fellow racers.

Summary
Members of the DSMP Server and the Hermitcraft Server have been swapping places inexplicably. The DSMPers are convinced that the Hermits are responsible and do what they do best, start a war. Xisuma Grian and Joe do their best to find a way to get everyone back on the correct server, while also trying to keep the server from completely destabilizing and getting no sleep in the process. As the looming threat of Perma-death and Limbo becomes more and more real the Hermits on the DSMP struggle to find a way to bring people back while also fighting against the DSMPers who see them as an invading threat to their isolated server.
