What happens what that little girl grows to be a teenager, and starts to uncover her mother's past? Even worse when she starts hiding an old friend directly behind her back who spouts stories of a facility and after all his time up in space, all he wants is to go home.

Wheatley adored the robotics lab assistant. He often went out of his way to have an excuse to talk to her, eager to see her smile at his awkward jokes. She wasn’t exactly the talkative type, so it didn’t bother him much whenever she let silence be her reply instead of words. He found comfort in the familiarity and certainty of their daily routine, assured that she’d always be there the next day. Nothing could’ve destroyed his reality faster than seeing her inside that testing chamber.

Chell expected many things to happen once she awoke in the Aperture enrichment centre. Puzzles, Cake, Almost dying, among other things. She did not expect to be on the run in the facility, not for the central AI to chase after her. Of course, that is without mentioning The babbling core that accompanies her and got her into this trouble in the first place...God she just wants her companion cube.

Chell's eyes flickered down to her crossed arms. He hated the hesitation, the pause that would run through that wondrous mind before she would comfort him.
"Chell?"
"Chell, please..." Wheatley's voice cracked, and he closed his eyes to protect himself from further emotional harm. She never did give a real answer to his questions, not even after years and years of begging and nagging. Was it too much to ask? Maybe too hard a question for their damaged psyches?
Her hand fell gently on his shoulder, the back of her knuckles brushing away the tears. It only made him sob harder.
"Wheatley," she whispered in that knowing, exasperated way. "It doesn't matter anymore. I love you," she joined him on the cold tile, her head falling unto the crook of his neck.
"Isn't that enough?"
