Howzer is a clone trooper serving the Republic, stationed on Ryloth. Despite the war, Ryloth has remained relatively peaceful, save for a couple of incidents. Under General Cham Syndulla and his wife Eleni, Howzer is granted more freedom than he ever thought he would get as a clone trooper. Freedom that allows his mind to entertain other ideas, and with news that the war may soon be over, an unfairly short future to think about and look forward to.
One chance encounter changes the course of Y/N's and Howzer's lives, their thoughts towards certain notions of life, and most importantly, what love is.

Shortly after taking on a padawan for the first time, Master Tholme, Jedi Shadow, travels to Ryloth on a self-assigned mission, intending to investigate Twi'lek Senator Chom Frey Kaa and his connection with the powerful and wealthy leaders of Clan Secura. With him, he brings fourteen-year-old Quinlan Vos, who is excited to be on his first 'real' mission as a Jedi.
Tholme would definitely have an easier time investigating on his own, especially since he isn't sure yet that he is a good teacher. Still, things aren't going badly. . . at least, not for the Jedi. But Twi'leks are disappearing, the Securas are openly selling the missing citizens' relatives, and no one seems willing or able to fight back.
To complicate things further, Quinlan starts to feel strange when he is around the Secura's manor house, and he's sure it isn't his psychometry.
