¿How long has it been? ¿4'000 or 3'000 years? For a goddess, it doesn't matter...

Yet to walk amongst the mortals brings certain comfort to Athena, at least in a way. To see how much the world has changed, and how much it will continue to change, and the overbearing sadness of knowing he didn't get to live it. That his beloveds didn't get to live it, maybe is better that way...

After all, a world of peace is what he wanted, and this one isn't, and maybe that world will never come to be, so it is better this way. For him to never see it..

    Unless...

Hoping to finally find a cure, not matter how temporary, for the curse she'd placed on Scylla many years ago, Circe once again finds herself pouring a potion into the waters where the monster bathes, though this one incomplete while they enjoy the process of aquiring the last few ingredients.

    Summary

Odysseus offers Zeus and alternative to his crew’s lives: himself. Unfortunately for him, Zeus accepts with a specific interpretation. He will never see his family again, but if it means he will be remembered as a sacrificial lamb instead of a monster in the eyes of Penelope, then he can make peace with it all.

Hera assumes that Zeus will get tired of his new “concubine” within the week. Odysseus proves differently. This, unfortunately, becomes a problem for everyone.

tldr: Ody does the right thing but the long-term consequences of not accepting death are complicated.

This is a crossover of Percy Jackson and the Olympians(Yes the TV show, so the descriptions will also rely on the tv shows) and EPIC: The Musical.

PS:It is currently Odysseus centric as I know much more about his tales than of Percy Jackson, but soon, in the underworld saga, I'll focus more on the Percy characters

Would it be like this? If I saw Telemachus come home, all grazed and muddied. Would he have friends that he would play with? Would Penelope sigh as I console my son?

Hermes’ POV after Song 30 “God Games” and his view of helping Odysseus + extra angst and fluff down the road, just for the hell of it.

"He had been forcing himself not to look too closely, to not pay attention to the gouges and burns that raked along his sister’s body. How each one branched off into intricate cuts caused by the lightning."

"If I delay the messages, maybe Father would let me take a break. I could pull it off as exhaustion, right? Not that it’d be much of an act."

“My friend! Message has arrived from Troy! The war has ended and the fleets are on their way!”

Odysseus felt his whole body freeze as he heard those words he had prayed for for so long. He could barely belive it...

    His wife was coming home…

    Or:
Odysseus, in this attempt at avoiding leaving his family alone to go to war, composes a vaguely mythologically accurate plan to evade the draft. But his failure poses even greater consequences than he could have ever imagined when he realises a certain someone has taken up his sword in his absence…

    Summary

Fate binds all beings that touch the universe. It strings someone the moment they are brought into the world. It is a power that is believed to transcend the gods themselves. Although there are an infinitesimal number of ways to counter it, only one is known: luck.

Reigning king of Ithaca. In another world, the karmic scale swung against his favor to maintain balance. 10 years of success in exchange for 10 more years of misfortune. In that world, he abandoned his mercy and adopted the aphorism "ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves". He lost 600 men, and he lost a part of himself with them. However, that's not the world told here. No, here, Odysseus had room for more kindness and self-sacrifice. Here, one god looked upon him. A god infamous for their hand in influencing the world yet forgotten by all but the most ancient beings. Odysseus receives a boon, one that may make or break his way home: the favor of of a certain god he did not have in the other world.

When Odysseus strikes a deal with the metaphorical devil to defy fate, he may have defied his doom, but he pays in more than blood.

What does it take to break free from your preordained path? What does it cost to break the laws of the universe?

    Summary

Eurylochus’ face looms over him as he looks up, trying to push himself from the ground. His brother-in-law’s expression is one he’s seen many times before; he has just never been on the receiving end of it.

Odysseus’ body seems too heavy for him to even stand, every time he tries to move, he is met with all-consuming pain and his lungs feel ready to collapse. He tries to speak, to plead, but all that comes out of his throat is a pathetic croak.

“You are a twisted man, Odysseus. We were all just too trusting to see it.” Eurylochus’ words are sharp and biting, but they are true.

Odysseus is twisted. He is sick and evil. He is a monster.

”You will go down in history just the same as Hector. Your legacy will be one of selfishness and cruelty. The people will know you as a liar and a whore. It is all you will ever be.” Eurylochus raises a foot and brings it down hard on Odysseus’ chest.

He gasps and coughs, but somehow finds his voice, “They will not know you.”

Eurylochus shouts as he raises his sword, and the last thing Odysseus sees is the blade headed for his jugular.

    Summary

In four years Odysseus would send “concerning” texts to Penelope. In four years Ctimene would still be cleaning up the cracks. In four years his mask would break. That's a story in itself. But what got him there? What began the spiral? How did he end up texting Penelope he wanted to die? It didn't all just begin before he turned 16. No, no, no. There was much more. So many more incidents that led up to that moment. For now, he was twelve and his mother had cancer and his best friends were trying to keep him from falling apart, with varying degrees of success
