But Tony gets hit with a mysterious ray and gets something resembling a partial amnesia: he thinks he's twelve. He thinks it's 1986. And he's more than surprised to see Captain America by his bedside when he wakes up.

    Written as a remix of A Safe Place by Veldeia, who summed it up like this: Tony is de-aged, and Steve is there for him—both during and after the ordeal. That pretty much applies to this one too, only it's mental de-aging.

      Oh I wish their happiness part was longer because the angst was so much more. I wonder why Steve wasn't instantly told that his soulmate must not be born yet. His mom just said maybe they're shy. I feel like everyone would know there's the possibility they will be the older soulmate.

      I love that Tony followed the feelings to Steve while thinking about how ridiculously cliche it even is that he can. I love that Tony swooped in and asked Steve if he'd like to go with Tony. I am so happy that they're instantly interested in being together.

      Concerning Howard and Tony’s name. I just assumed Howard didn't see it. Maybe Steve's name was uncovered but it wasn't documented in his files or people were respectful of not looking at others' marks.

      Poor Steve and Tony both alone and feeling defective for so long. Plus Tony always feeling cold. I wonder if he feels too hot now considering he's probably developed habits over the years to counteract the coldness he feels from Steve.
      It's kind of funny that Tony takes notes on his arm since no one has ever been received them. I can picture him once in a while writing on his arm by habit and Steve replying in the middle 😄

    Alphas claim an omega for the duration of a single heat using bond bites, which usually fade within a couple weeks, allowing both parties to go their separate ways and move on if they so choose. That’s the usual way of things, anyway. However, Project Rebirth comes with a few unforeseen side effects on omega Steve Rogers. He can’t get drunk; he can’t be properly anesthetized; and his heats are fewer and far between. All of these are manageable, if occasionally annoying, but the largest, most-glaringly inconvenient one doesn’t come up until his first supercharged heat spent with alpha Tony Stark: permanent bond bites.

    What was supposed to be a one-time thing turns into a permanent arrangement when Steve can only respond sexually to Tony, and Tony feels obligated to the omega who bears his mark.
