Summary
This completed smut-optional story offers a peek into a friendship and eventual romance between the Builder and Gust over the span of over one year. That's pretty much it. If you're new/inexperienced with the fandom, no worries! The story is written so that anyone can read it and a lot of in-game lore isn't necessarily needed to understand it. However, some major plot points, (although no late-game info) will be covered in the story so just bear that in mind. The story only runs through the first half of the in-game content. Justice didn’t move to town as a child and he became a church enforcer rather than a sheriff.
Pen moved to town as sheriff instead, but was still the Pen we all know and love.
Howlett wasn’t in the ruins to be attacked by Pen, that was a church enforcer called Kat instead, followed a few months later by Mayor Theo.

One harsh winter season a sinkhole opened in Somber Marsh, revealing a previously unknown ruins at its bottom. The Civil Corps are no stranger to ruins but even they couldn't have predicted what they'd find down there or how it would effect their tiny corner of the world.
Minor changes: seasons fleshed out to full 3 months each. Being as there's so little information on what the world was like prior to the time period Portia takes place in all unofficial locations, references, and technology veer off into AU and headcanon territory.
