Summary
Matthew Patrick has been physically freed from the clutches of Everlock for near three months, yet the terrors or what he experienced still thwart his every thought and moment. Even after the months of healing he has attempted to under-go, the hours spent lying awake in his bed, staring blankly at the ceiling with not a single thought, he has never felt true peace or rest since the moment he and Nikita Dragun were freed.
With all the remaining terrors of his trauma still infiltrating his thoughts, he wanted nothing to do with Everlock, or Joey, or the Society Against Evil, or death in it's entirety. The only piece of his trauma he can muster standing to being the framed photo of himself, Safiya, and Rosanna fixed on his bedside table, and Nikita Dragun herself.
Yet, the idea of saving those he had lost, and saving others who had faced the horrors undergone at the hands of Joey is so viciously tempting, he cannot help but give in when gifted the offer.
