Inspired by how often I’ve restarted the game and the entertaining thought that my player characters are just really confused about all the time travel. (WARNING: Major spoilers starting in the first chapter.)
Kat's the newest builder in Sandrock... but she's pretty sure she's been here before. There's no way she could dream up the future, so how did she get here? And what should she do now? People always told her it was a bad idea to fight Fate but she couldn't just stand by and let it all happen again... right?

Summary
Hi. The story follows our builder, Charlie. A tragedy upended her charmed life, and she suffered a great loss. In her quest to find answers and serve justice, she found herself at Sandrock’s doorstep. A town plagued by a myriad of misfortunes from destructive sandstorms, water shortages, a declining population, monsters, and bandits. Weaving through the various complications of surviving in the harsh environment and the insurmountable demands of the job, she kept her eye on the prize, to bring those responsible to justice; however, the revelations seem to fuel more skepticism. Amidst the confounding evidence, she is left to wonder about her own motives, unveiling the truth or exacting revenge.
How much of herself was she willing to lose to satiate her quest to uncover answers? Our builder is flawed, straightforward, tactless, foul-mouthed, unapologetic, and some call princess. An enigma draped in armor and armed with a pickaxe.
A long way around the Bend: The story follows the timeline of the main story, with which I took the creative license to serve the plot; my three cats and one dog approved of this move. Enjoy the ride.

Summary
Mostly Logan POV because I just plain like to write him. Chapters will be released as I write them.
After Max's failed attempt to save Sandrock from destruction by the Duvosian fleet, he decides he needs a new strategy if he's going to stop them. This time, he's going to help them. To do that, he's going to have to go back further in time, back to before it all fell apart. Of course, Max will do anything to ensure Sandrock's safety, but going back this far will mean Logan won't know who he is. Will Logan still fall in love with him, or will Max be left alone?
Max's plans will dramatically alter Logan's life. Logan might not even be the same person, too much has happened between then and now. Will he even like the person Logan is when he hasn't gone through any of the events that weigh on the Logan Max knows and loves?
Too many questions, no way to answer them except to try.

Logan and Lucy's relationship moves forward and Nia's training begins to pay off.This is a complete AU. It does not follow the game storyline at all. Howlett is alive, Haru and Logan are full brothers, and there is no Grace, no Miguel and no Andy.
The tags are incomplete to avoid spoilers. This story is closed door but some of the themes are pitch black. This is your warning: It gets dark and it gets violent, but at the end of the day it is a hopeful story of self-discovery and redemption.
This work is compete but is still in beta. I will be updating chapters weekly so I don't overwhelm my lovely beta reader.

Woke up one night during a thunderstorm and my brain suddenly went "Hey! Hey! You know what? What iiiiif... What if the builder WAS a Duvos spy?"
Some alterations to that setting (you'll see along the way), some drafting later and here we are.
Trigger warning for: gun violence, some other types of violence, more mature themes and some smut. Also, some major character death. This may not be a good fic for Pen fans. Will try to provide more concrete trigger warnings for more serious situations at the beginning of the chapters.
The overall timeline is the same as the game but there will be a few deviations from canon to accommodate the concept.
Not beta read, English not my native language and my writing is nowhere near as good as other authors' on this site but yolo.
