Kaladin coughed up blood. Only a little, for now. But if he was coughing up blood at all, the spear had clipped a lung, if not outright punctured it. Drowning on his own blood was yet another way he could die here, lying face down in the dust and crem. Leshwi must have put him here, he realized. If he'd hit the ground on his own, he would be dead already. But he wasn't, and Leshwi had killed one of her own people for him. Huh. She must really like him to try this hard to save his life.

He pushes Kaladin’s long hair back behind his ear. Kaladin sucks in a breath, involuntarily drawing in the stormlight from the spheres by Adolin’s bed, plunging them into darkness but for the faint glow now rising from Kaladin’s skin.
