"Uther had been pissed when Arthur announced that instead of being a solo artist he was going to be part of a band but then their first album had gone platinum and the media had dubbed him the prince of rock and it had gotten Uther off their backs for a while.
The second album hadn't done as well as the first by a large margin. People were starting to call them a one-hit wonder. Uther tried to make the point to Arthur that he could branch off on his own now. Start his solo career. But Arthur wasn't having it. So now they were searching for their 'new sound' which Merlin had continuously rolled his eyes at. They were all on edge which meant they were all fighting all the time and Merlin was stuck playing mediator."
I.E. all the boys are in a rock band that has lost its sound. That is until they find out that Merlin is a brilliant piano player. But with Merlin's stage fright to overcome and Gwaine's budding feelings will they be able to keep the band together?

With the new flick getting more positive buzz than Arthur had expected, it's starting to look like he just might write his own ticket into a high-visibility West End role, even as he tries to rework his treatment for the stage. Merlin, meanwhile, is adapting to the increased popularity that comes with being married to a Hollywood megastar, even as his own star is on the rise, with the Proms and a new world tour. Of course, all of this comes with the new challenge of being apart more than they have since they got together. "I said I don't understand how Gawain can drink all day and night and none of you lot say a word about it, but the one time I get a bit tipsy, you look at me like I've grown a second head," Merlin repeated, his accent thick, and his voice much deeper than usual with an almost raspy sound.
There's a pause as they all stare at him until Gawain pipes up. "He said my name!"
"Yeah, I think we all caught that part, Gawain," Arthur muttered, keeping his eyes on Merlin. "What accent are you using?"
