The Crows were the hot rock band of their day. They rose to power through the mid-seventies to the mid-eighties. Their very first - self-titled - album debuted in the Hot 100, but their real claim to fame came when INEJ GHAFA (bassist), JESPER FAHEY (guitar and drums), WYLAN VAN ECK (piano), and KAZ BREKKER (lead vocals and guitar) were joined by NINA ZENIK (lead vocals, piano and guitar) and MATTHIAS HELVAR (drums).
The second album The Crows put out was called Six Feathers and had them soaring through all the charts. That album was how they became known, and it was undoubtedly because of the powerhouse combination of BREKKER and ZENIK. Their lyricism, energy and passion were unmatched.
However, tragedy struck the illustrious band with one album left on their contract, and however many theories a The Crows aficionado could come up with, nothing beats th truth.
So, I present to you an autobiography constructed of interviews with the band members and others.

What is now only Ravka used to be many different countries and cities...Fjerda, Kerch, Shu Han. Now, there is only Ravka, it's Capitol, and the Districts. Every year tributes are chosen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, where only one will survive and be crowned Victor.

Jesper was an addict, and he was never supposed to fall for his dealer.
But Kaz was good luck. When Kaz dealt the cards, Jesper always broke even at least; if he sat anywhere else at the Crow Club, he'd land himself in even more debt. He knew he should stop, but he couldn't help himself.
After accidentally telling his father that he's dating a boy who works at the casino, Jesper goes to the dealer himself. “I need you to pretend to date me. I need to pretend that I come to the casino for you and not--”
"Not to gamble yourself into an even bigger pit of debts?" Kaz asked, amused. "What's in it for me?"
"I'll pay you; just put it on my tab," Jesper offered, and he knew that the dealer had every right to say no. Kaz should have said no, and he looked about ready to, but then something nearly imperceptible shifted in his eyes.
"Fine, but I charge interest," Kaz acquiesced. "And if you touch me without permission, I will break your arm."
"Can I--"
"No."
And so he began his ploy, bringing Kaz gifts and taking photos of the dealer for his father. It was all a ruse, a clever cover story for why he was always at the casino. Or at least, that's what he told himself.

When she fights herself to the top of the Dregs as the Wraith of the Barrel after removing Per Haskell, she realises she needs a new addition to her team to exact her vengeance on Jakob Hertzoon.
A new spider able to pick locks, do card tricks and gather intelligence...An unlikely pairing.

Summary
Kaz Brekker is an actor. He's always been an actor, both professionally and in his personal life. He's never acted in a show and didn't feel the need to but when Per Haskell comes out with another fantastic idea, Kaz just cannot turn it down.
But, a lead role is not all he gets by agreeing to act in "We met in Ketterdam". He also gets a whole lot of headaches, emotions he isn't ready to deal with and a group of people to spend his time with.
