He knows, because he’s known all along. Robby thinks of: the mats, the old dojo, Kreese and Silver betting on them like dogs. Silver had known exactly what it would take to beat Robby. He’d said, everyone has a weakness. His is out there in the open, doing warm-ups downstairs.
“I’ll stay.” He hears himself say it as if from a distance. “If Kenny goes, I’ll stay in Cobra Kai.”

Hangovers are a bitch, Robby internally grouses. He closes his eyes, realizing he sounds just like someone. Someone who, in regards to drinking and its repercussions in particular, he doesn't want - and has never wanted - to emulate. Damn.

It’s autumn, 1986, and Daniel LaRusso has a problem.
Mr. Miyagi’s Little Trees is just not making enough money. Sure, things are going pretty great on the surface, but the bills are piling up, and Daniel has to do something to fix it. An opportunity arises, one that’s just too good to pass up. However, this kick starts a chain of events that lead to him running for his life, with none other than Johnny Lawrence. Daniel’s life may be in danger, but he’s not so sure that his heart will survive being in this close proximity to the blonde Cobra.

Summary

Terry Silver already collaborating with John Kreese, still being sensei's at Cobra Kia. Kreese supports Silver's feelings for Daniel and seeks a chance at reconciliation. Daniel firmly rejects Silver's advances, prompting Silver to plot revenge, vowing to make Daniel's life miserable, until his boy comes back to him. Silver believes that Daniel will ultimately return to him, envisioning a life filled with contentment—if Kumiko is removed from the picture.

Leaning over the side of the bed, Johnny picks up his pair of pants where they dropped on the floor. Searching a pant leg up until he reaches the clinking metal of his belt buckle, he procures his smartphone from his pocket. As he tosses the dress pants away in favor of the device, Daniel shifts and looks over at him blearily, turning on the light.
Robby’s name flashes on the front of Johnny’s screen. He sits up in bed and answers. “Robby?”
“Dad,” the relief and breathlessness of Robby’s voice confuses Johnny, “oh, thank god. Cobra Kai is back and we were so blindsided that we couldn’t-”
“Whoa,” Johnny’s legs curl under the covers as he prepares to exit the bed, his heart pounding in his dry throat, “say that one part again.”

For a base, let's just say Daniel's and Johnny had feelings for each other back in 1984. Johnny had a friendship with Miyagi that Daniel was unaware of. Daniel's divorced, is completely on amicable terms with Amanda to the point of them just being best friends, and Johnny confronts Samantha at the dealership for wrecking his car. -
