Communal bathing has become somewhat of a group bonding activity for the party. Getting lean after a land day of sweating and bleeding is always better with company, after all. Amnesia comes with the perks of having no shame and its slowly rubbing off on Durge's companions. He asks Gale weird questions, and Gale asks weird questions back.
Durge asks Gale what being trans is. Gale asks to see his dick (on accident, somehow). Karlach laughs at him.

The fight in the Grymforge didn't go as well as everyone had hoped. The party has a few reckless decisions on Tav's end to blame for that, but he pays the price for his impulsiveness. Their resident sorcerer and cleric go down and return to camp to rest, leaving Astarion and Karlach to talk.

Astarion’s manipulation efforts on Karlach to make sure she'll never turn on him have been working amazingly! Even though he wasn’t able to really give it his best efforts due to the whole ‘unable to touch her’ thing. But now she’s got her engine fixed, so she can touch people! This is great. Right? Astarion is very confused why he is feeling so very weird about at this turn of events. Meanwhile Karlach is so fucking happy she can touch people and, after hugging the shit out of everybody she can get her arms around, she’s super jazzed to be able to finally take Astarion up on his offer for a ‘night of passion’. One problem: where the fuck did he go?

Summary
Karlach is hot, Astarion is cold, and Xav gets caught in the middle, lucky thing.
This is set in early act 1, so the companions don't know each other very well yet; nobody has high approval and everybody's a little on edge. Astarion and Karlach share a particularly prickly frenemosity, which leads to some lively Good Dom/Bad Dom power struggles at poor Xav's expense.
A note on my headcanon for Astarion in this piece: he's guarded and suspicious, not yet sure who to try out his seductions on. He still craves the physical release of sex but hasn't dealt with any emotions around it. As he comes to realize that he can sate some of his appetites on his own terms for the first time, he seizes the opportunity, while also unleashing some of his pent-up contempt for all of the (as he sees it) weak and gullible marks who fell for his charms over the last two centuries.

After an enormous avalanche separates Tav from her party, Karlach finds her. Or at least, Tav thinks it's Karlach, at first. But her Karlach smells like cinnamon and smoke, and this Karlach reeks of blood... still, she sounds, looks, and even feels just like her real lover. They just fought a bunch of cultists, after all; she's bound to smell like blood. Why wouldn't she relax, now that Karlach is here?
