He tightens his grip around his knees in a soothing mimicry of an embrace. Demise is an ugly echo that Time knows follows him like a wraith. The long-dead god's curse is pressed into Sky's skin like a brand.
"It's not your fault," Time says sincerely, gently grabbing Sky's shoulder. Sky's eyes shine faintly with tears. "Sky, none of this is your fault. It shouldn't have happened to us, but it shouldn't have happened to you either."

Summary
The newest member of the ragtag group of heroes throughout the ages literally falls from the sky in front of them.
It doesn't take long for them to realize that he's not a fighter like the rest of them, at least not anymore. And that's ignoring the fact that he's a shy nervous wreck who clearly isn't used to being around nine other heroes with questionable social skills.
(AU where Wild is the last to join the Chain and he's not a swordsman like everyone else, but is instead a sorcerer because his chronic pain meant he couldn't fight with an actual sword anymore. He's got a lot of healing to go through with that, and the Chain will help him because he's one of them, even if a sorcerer Link wasn't what they were expecting.)

Summary

And when he gives a promise, he has all the intentions of keeping it. Eventually a specific promise he once gave to Hyrule nearly costs him his life.

“Hey, there you are,” Time’s voice sounds calmly from behind him. Wild doesn’t glance back to look at him nor move at all but as Time walks over to the spot next to him, he doesn’t protest the older hero’s presence and instead simply lets out a quiet breath, Time taking that as the permission it is to settle down next to him on the hill.
Time gives him a moment more of silence, the two of them just spending time in the presence of nature, before he asks “Was it a memory?” Wild shakes his head ever so slightly, but luckily Time sees it and lets out a quiet hum of acknowledgment. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Why would he have thought otherwise? The war had been won. He’d been sent home safe, and promised tearfully to see the Captain again, in the way that people who know they will never return make promises anyway.
But this quest had given Time hope for another meeting.
The Chain had been cautiously excited to meet the man from the stories, the man who’d helped their leader grow into the steady, reliable hero he was today.
They were expecting a soldier, a warrior, standing tall and proud, victorious on the battlefield.
This is a man who has seen a very different type of battle.
OR
Link hasn't been a Captain for a long time. Or a brother. He's barely felt like a person.

Summary
Time’s latest boy has trouble in getting his feelings under control. Four has a necklace which’s color he’s capable of changing by pressing one of the four small buttons around the pendant.
Green is his default when he’s calm and collected while accepting people both being close and keeping their distance. Red is the emotional side of him when he’s very clingy and in need of closeness. Violet is his scientific mind when he’s not too happy of being bothered unless one has something of worth to say and willing to help him clear the current problem out. Blue is his anger and he really wishes people would keep their distance at then.
Obviously Time isn’t taking that. He’s more than willing to help his boy to deal with the feeling and figure out the reason behind his anger… Even with the cost of his own wellbeing.

Bloodshot, royal blue eyes gazed pitifully up at him. “But you shouldn’t have to.”
“Is what it is, Sky. If it’ll give you a break, I don’t mind it.” And he didn’t, truly. He leaned in and briefly pressed his forehead into Sky’s burning temple as the older aspect shivered and trembled like a leaf against him, even bundled in three layers of blankets. “Just focus on resting, okay?”
