    Richard Grayson, his mother’s Robin, wasn’t a boy who froze. How could he when he was constantly in motion? A pendulum swinging from nest to perch to the arms of his father. It was physics. Fate. An inevitability. Jump, swing, fly, soar, catch, land.

    Familiar motions that Dick had ingrained into his very soul, the traits that were at the core of Robin, that created Officer Grayson. But in the end he was a bat as well, it was Bruce’s guided hand that created the mind of Detective Grayson, his mistakes that bore the creation of Nightwing - a name Jason wasn’t even supposed to know about.

    It was still a whisper on the breeze, distant birdsong that Dick had only just begun to hear before the rug had been pulled out from under him. He wondered if the Titans, new and old, knew of this new identity, of this step to independence.

    After revealing the truth about Jericho Dick leaves the Titans (He's sort of forced out, it's a grey area) and he returns alone to Bludhaven. Jason the lost duckling (robin) that he is, follows him.

    While the rest of the Bat-fam is wary of Jason's (second) return, Dick is quietly thrilled when Jason appeared like an apparition after disappearing for years. They had all expected him to come back the way he had been before - fists swinging and guns blazing - only to appear two years later with an entirely different agenda none of them had expected: to avoid the hell out of the Bats and go about his ways as a crime lord.

    Well. That seemed to be the case for a while. But now Dick is in a bit of a pickle. Because out of the blue, Jason has become hell bent on getting him out of Gotham - going so far as to threaten his life. But what Dick can't understand is why him?

    Dick was a walking danger magnet with a charming smile. Jason always knew that.

    And this particular magnet just so happened to share blood relations with one of the most vicious, albeit dead Talons in the history of Gotham: William Cobb. But it turns out being dead wasn't enough to stop the Court of Owls, and the myth of Gotham City is on a hunt for that familial blood. Jason just needs to find a way to keep Dick out of Gotham and out of sight from the Court of Owls. That turns out to be more trouble that he anticipated.

    Death agreed to come for him in two Earth weeks.

    And so, Dick was left alone on the large planet, but it was on that planet that Dick met a group of people he would gladly call family.

    “Very interesting, indeed.” Fate slowly dropped to the ground and the ethereal glow that had been surrounding them previously faded so they could see them more clearly. “There is only one person who could spell so beautifully, so intricately.”
