Summary
Into The Rift AU is an SMG4 alternate universe made by @glamman where the sacrifice of Mr. Puzzles and Mr. WPNZ doesn't result in their end. SMG3's once again taken pity on another SMG4 villain, this time, someone much more violent than the TV we all know and love. After the events of Silence Of The Cats, SMG3 decided to try and fix Mr. WPNZ by having him (alongside Mr. Puzzles) work at his coffee shop, SMG3's coffee and Bombs.

Gunshow almost dies cus their apartment building exploded with them in it during a thunderstorm.
Puzzles was thrown out the window and feel god knows how many stories. Literally lost an arm in the process. Damaged and wounded he eventually finds Toomp and panicky picks up Wpnz distress signal. Wpnz was still stuck in the building that was burning way worse then ever. Wpnz is found in a staircase trapped under rubble and lost his leg in the prosess, man is getting crushed in a crumbling building and cracked and damages so badly Wpnz couldn’t move but could talk. So Wpnz was stuck in a horrified realization to that himself is fireproof while Puzzles is not. Poor f%ck had to watch helplessly as his one armed hurt boyfriend stubbornly refused to save himself to get Wpnz after the smoke clears - No Puzzles head was melting, taking smoke and fire damage and god knows what else before he finally gets Wpnz lose
Puzzles had planed a getaway with Toomp who waited outside. Bur the storm is still happening so really badly hurt and getting damaged further by the rain Wpnz gets Toomp to call and old friend of his for help
They get shelter, drying and repairs; Puzzles f^cking died. A heart to heart is had or core to core and both Puzzles and Wpnz cus electrocution be damned
Edit: had a long ramble about their injuries and how I headcannoned them going forward and how it would effect them: turns out I was on the right track cus the next immediate chapter/ part I read went into detail on how they suffer physically even when «healing» and are all hella traumatized. Win win in my book
