Summary
Annatar tensed as he heard footsteps approaching his position at the desk in the forge. He knew those footsteps, knew who they belonged too, and it was exactly the person he was trying to avoid.
“Annatar,” Celebrimbor’s voice was deceptively soft, the tone of a man about to deliver bad news. The charcoal in Annatar’s hands snapped, sending dust and fragments all over his sketch. He stared down at it, hoping that Celebrimbor would take it as a sign that today is not a good day to be approaching Annatar and leave him alone.

For Silvergifting week 2024, Day 7: Post-canon - New beginning. Valinor. Reconciliation. Recovery. Remembering the past.
Sauron is not as gone as many would think. Not even the Valar themselves notice as his form slips back into Aman, Valinor and then a new Formenos for a reconciled family.
Celebrimbor wonders why he feels so uneasy but relieved.
His family does not know the extent of his poor life choices and frankly, neither does he.

Since the journey of the Fellowship met their success in destroying Sauron's haunt, as well as, The One Ring, all was well with the world.
Until the Fifth Age. A lone woman decided she reached the end of her life and wished to cease to exist. Traveling far and wide to the notable Mount Doom, she planned to fade away in the empty and long-cold chasm of the former, fiery volcano. Nothing ever turns out as Ariadna could've hoped, however.For instead of death that awaits her, something far worse lurks in the shadows - waiting for her arrival, her notice, and eventually, her temptation. Sauron's golden band endured through the molten fire. And he has returned to take his revenge on the inhabitants of Middle Earth.
This time, with the involuntary assistance of a vulnerable, mortal woman.

But, no, he wasn't dead and, no, he wasn't coming back.
