Summary
Sorry for using a slur but trust me, it makes sense for the story.
(Edit: title of story might change (again) due to the backlash im receiving from it, although it will probably be changed either today or within the next few days while I finish the chapter (and my howmeowrk which is proabably what I should be working on instead of this) and try to see what I can change it to (cause yes it does take me a long ass time to come up with titles don't judge me)
Based on a post I made on tumblrWhat if Stanley ended up having brain damage after a severe brain injury leaving him with both mental and physical trauma. This one will be based off scenario one where Ford finds out after he receives a call from the hospital and becomes Stanley’s full time caregiver helping him relearn how to walk, speak, read, and overall just live once more. This does also involve Stanley losing most of his memories and having to slowly regain them.

Summary
Stan didn’t know what he expected. Just a larger version of the kid he had known in high school, really. Sure they were identical, but Stan hadn’t been the person who looked like his brother in a long time. New scars, constant stubble, greasy mullet, dirty clothes, couple new teeth…He wasn’t exactly his best self. Ford seemed to be doing just fine, last he heard, what with his fancy house up in the Pacific Northwest wilderness, so he had assumed that he would be more…stable.
He noted his shaking hands, the relentless pacing he had picked up, back and forth through the room like a caged animal. He took in the unshaved face, the sunken eyes with dark shadows so deep they may as well be bruises. He looked pale and skinny, like he hadn’t been eating enough. Still, Ford stared ahead, hands clutching a book he had picked up during his rambles, eyes flicking back and forth like he was reading the blank air.
What was this guy so afraid of way out here?
In which there's slightly more communication when Stan first comes to Gravity Falls, and it makes all the difference.

Summary
Stan helps take down Rico from the inside and is granted a place in the Witness Protection Program. His relocation is some small town in Oregon, one of the states that he isn’t banned from yet. A town that’s somehow stranger than anything he’s seen on the road.
Ford would love this place.

Summary
Ever wondered why Stan Pines is scared of heights? Well, there's certainly a backstory for it. But it's not as silly or wholesome as you would assume.
---
Stan is nervous to see Ford after ten years, but he knows he has to see his brother one last time before he says goodbye forever. All he wants is to ask for forgiveness and to know that is isn't hated by the only person who ever loved him. But when he gets to Gravity Falls, he is hit with disappointment. Ford made him come all this way just to tell him to get out of his life?
---
Ford is not particularly looking forward to seeing his brother - the man who ruined his only chance of escaping the poverty cycle, but he's desperate. Tormented by Bill Cipher, he has barely slept in weeks and feels himself losing touch with reality, becoming more and more irritable and short-tempered.
All he needs is for Stan to take the journal and leave, but the idiot refuses. As days pass & tensions rise, Ford learns a terrible lesson. Sometimes you forget to appreciate the people who love you the most - and worse - by the time you realise, it's too late.
The only question left is whether Ford will learn his lesson in time.

Summary
They worked on the boat; they played on the boat. They were too old for pretend but sometimes they did it anyway, pretending to set sail, fight pirates, find treasure, discover lost worlds. Eventually, Ford got sidetracked watching crabs. He found a crab exoskeleton and played with the legs, studying the way the joints articulated. When he turned back to Stan to share his observations, Stan was sitting, sad faced, staring out at the sea. Ford was disturbed to see his brother so melancholy.
Or, an exploration how Stan slowly loses the faith and love of his family.

Summary
“Don’t touch that button!”
Stan’s chest is heaving with exertion and the muscles in his legs are burning in ways he had forgotten were even possible. His eyes scan over Soos and Mabel, finally landing on Dipper, whose hand is hovering just inches above the kill switch.
Stan holds up his hands in a placating gesture and slowly creeps into the room towards them. He’s so close, so close to getting his brother back, it can’t end like this. He knows he’s a fuck-up, even more so now that he’s staring into the kids’ terrified eyes. He tried. He tried to keep them away from all of this shit, but that’s yet another thing he failed to do right.
“Dipper, just back away,” he says, as gently as he can. Stan walks towards him slowly, keeping his hands in front of him. He sucks in a shaky breath when he gets close enough to see the expression on Dipper’s face.
Anger. Disappointment. Betrayal. Distrust. Hatred.
The kid’s always reminded him of his brother, after all.
OR
a re-write of Ford's return scene (s02e11- s02e12) where Ford doesn't punch Stan, and instead gives him a much deserved hug.

Summary
Stan Pines and good decisions go together like oil and water. His latest bad decision? Going home for Hanukkah. Blame it on a phone call, a guilty conscience, or just plain stupidity. Whatever the reason, Stan's rusty El Diablo is pointed towards Jersey, and there's no turning back now.
Snow's falling, tempers are rising, and Stan's stuck in the middle. Happy freaking Hanukkah.

Summary
Stanford receives an unexpected call from his brother, begging for help. Stanley sounds desperate, leading Stanford to the idea that his brother is being kidnapped right at that moment, the sounds of him struggling against other people coming through over the phone. Stanford panics.
Until a nurse picks up the phone and clears up the misunderstanding.
As it turns out, Stanley has been forcibly institutionalized after a mental breakdown. He’s supposedly receiving help there, but Stanford finds he can’t stand the thought of Stanley locked away in asylum, left alone to rot. Stanley needs him, and Stanford doubts the asylum could help him the way Stanford could.
So he decides to go and collect his brother, whether the asylum wants him to or not.

Summary
“I'm going to tell you a secret, Stan. I'm your great niece from the future.”
He stares at her, incredulous, and she laughed, throwing her head back.
“It's true, it's true! My name is Mabel Pines, and one day, though you may not believe me, you and my Great Uncle Ford makeup… And even if you never did, you wouldn't have been alone. Because you would- will- have me and my brother, and we're not leaving for anything, okay?”
“You're pulling my leg.” Stan deadpanned.
“No, no, I'm serious!” She grinned.
“...Okay, so you're crazy,” Stan mutters. Mabel laughs.
“Maybe. You don't have to believe me, not really. You just need to keep hope. And when our parents call and ask for you to take us for the summer- marital problems, you know how it is- just know that when you accept, you're getting two amazing niblings that will change your life for the better! So… Grunkle Stan, won't you try? For that hope?”
She held her hand out to him, and he stared, not sure what to make of it. A moment later, he laughs- taking the hand as he does so. “This is either the strangest way a stranger has talked someone down from suicide, or you're really my niece from the future.”

Summary
Stanley Pines was no saint. He made mistakes, and he definitely made a lot of them. Maybe hooking up with that girl back in Vegas, right after having his heart broken by Marylin, had been one of those. Especially with whatever the hell happened between leaving her behind, and two kids appearing on the doorstep of the rented mobile home he was crashing in. Selfish as it might be, he’d call it one of the best damn things to ever happen to him.
He struggled. He couldn’t provide them with everything they deserve. Living out of a car, crashing in hotel rooms, it wasn’t how any kid should have it. But, that didn’t mean he wasn’t trying to fix it. He’d do whatever it took to make things better for the two of them, no matter what cost.
So, one day, when he got a postcard through the mail slot of the tiny motel room he’d sheltered the kids in, he started to wonder. His brother asked him to come, and the chance to fix things between them is enough to be on the road in just a few hours. But, more than that, there was a tugging in his chest like a call home, one that has him focusing on that town’s name. Gravity Falls. For the first time in years, he wondered if he was about to find the perfect chance to start over.
