“Gabbro!” the Hatchling cried. Gabbro turned at their name, flute lowered. The Hatchling dashed across the sand and grabbed the astronaut by the shoulders. “I’m stuck in a time loop with Chert. You have to do something.”

Summary
You don't know what it is—a detailed hallucination, a trick of the mind, or one last gift from the Eye of the universe in recognition of your years of steadfast dedication to finding the answer. Infinite life condensed into a moment: twenty-two minutes to save the universe. In the end, you led yourself and everyone you loved to their final resting place. A universe contained within the space of an atom, an explosion as bright as a supernova.
And then you woke up.

Summary
Slate frantically ran up the stairs towards the observatory, looking around.
“Mica?” Mica was also just as shaken.
“Slate? What was that?” They asked. Their face was frightened as they stared at them.
“I don’t-”
But they cut themselves off as they heard something… almost like whispering at first. But it was getting louder, and Slate realized it was the sound of whooshing air.
But what was that bright, blue light in the sky?
And why was it getting hotter all of a sudden?
Slate suddenly gasped as a roar washed over them. They frantically looked up, seeing that the sky was too bright. Impossibly so. It lit up the entire night sky so much that they couldn't see the stars anymore.
But then, it was gone.
Slate stared in confusion and terror at the sky for a few seconds, as if they were waiting for the strange light to return, before they tilted their head back down and looked around frantically.

While the rest of the village prepares for the winter season, Hal seems to be having pronoun trouble, and only their friends can help. Meanwhile, the hatchlings outside play an ever-growing game, and it seems Chert's been sucked into the black hole of chaos. Can Hal keep cool, keep their stomach, and keep their wits about them as they push forward in the name of linguistics?

Summary
The area was “unsafe” according to Feldspar, “off-limits” according to Chert, “fragile” according to Riebeck, and “really boring” according to Gabbro. No one they talked to gave a consistent reasoning, and they always seemed eager to shoo them away and go back inside.
Whatever they were trying to hide (and Tephra was certain they were hiding something) must be important.
Or
Tephra and Galena notice the travelers doing something weird, and are determined to get to the bottom of it.
