Summary
Eliana Gilbert, Elena's fraternal twin, always felt different. Growing up in Mystic Falls, she was close to her family and fascinated by nature, crystals, and folklore. When Elena unexpectedly became pregnant by Ethan Rogers, Eliana stood by her side, supporting her decision to keep the baby. On April 6, 2008, Elena gave birth to Nina Amelia Gilbert, and Eliana helped her every step of the way.
Tragedy struck on May 23, 2009, when their parents died in a car accident. Though Elena and Eliana survived, Eliana’s heart stopped for nearly 10 minutes before miraculously restarting. After the accident, Elena withdrew into herself, focusing on raising Nina, while Jeremy turned to drugs. Eliana became the emotional anchor of the family, choosing to stay in school to support them despite having enough credits to graduate early.
Eliana soon discovered her supernatural powers, including shapeshifting into a tiger. Elena helped her practice secretly, while Nina adored her "kitty" form. As Eliana's powers grew, she began having recurring dreams of two men with blue eyes, hinting at a deeper connection to Mystic Falls' supernatural history.

It made her feel strong and trusted when Batman asked her to protect Gotham while he chased Mr. Freeze and Scarecrow to Hong Kong. ("The League took a vote," Tim had told her while he, Dick, and Alfred were preparing to go with Bruce. "They decided that Gotham villains are Batman's responsibly even if they aren't in Gotham. Especially when the villains team up.”) Now she feels bored.
When everyone else is occupied, Cass is left alone to protect Gotham. Between juggling trying out having a childhood, grieving Steph, and keeping the manor in order, she has a lot on her plate. A journalist trying to figure out who's living at Wayne Manor while Bruce is away and a trigger-happy rising crime lord don't help matters.
