Looking at their hands intertwined, he stayed quiet for a moment before admitting, “I know it won’t...” Compulsions always made him feel better temporarily before the anxiety came back and next thing he knows, he’s spent hours with the same thoughts and the false promise that if he does his compulsion this time, then he’ll feel better.
Smiling softly, Lance gave a proud nod in return. He was happy Keith was acknowledging obsessing over it wouldn’t help. “Good job, baby... Now, what’s your main intrusive thought? Can we do an exposure therapy exercise?” He kept his voice soft and gentle, lacking the usual teasing. He knew Keith was anxious and he wasn’t going to contribute to it.

There was a small sniffle, then a little broken but loving, “Lanceeee...” It was supposed to come off as light-hearted scolding, but it was wet and emotional. He gently squished and pinched his husband’s cheeks as a few tears escaped his eyes, his brows furrowed.

Usually, he’d make a witty comeback, but the way he was being held and the cozy, yet dark atmosphere made him feel more like just cuddling Lance. “Shut up... I love horror,” Is all he says as he flicks through Tubi and finds another on his watch list called “SlaughterHouse on The Hill”, which seems scary but also low budget, so perfect for cuddling with your boyfriend and unwinding.
