It was easy, and that’s why it was so hard to lie to herself. If it was difficult, it would’ve balanced out. Of course, killing should be hard. Apo’s not a fighter. She never wanted to be. But then there’d be the screams, and the blazingly fast flash of light. The deep booms that never quite became background noise. Soot on her fingertips, ash on her tongue. There’s no way out of the guilt then, not even lies.

He hadn’t seen his reflection in, in- well. Since his partner. It didn’t show up easily in puddles or silver blades, and even now his mirror self wavered like a mirage, but it was there. It was real. He was still here. Avid suppressed the urge to laugh, then realized he had nothing to hide. Most of the village thought he was crazy anyways.
The helpless giggles dripped from his lips like desaturated blood, like he was crying on the inside, and as a doomed prophet would to the future, so came the tears.
He had time.

Summary
A series of non-chronological oneshots, comics, and low-effort doodles that will be cross posted on my tumblr (ImSoSleepyOfYourBull) about an AU in which Werewolf V!Pearl breaks down Fae V!Abolish's door to demand that he help her as she tries to prevent V!Avid from poisoning himself while staving off his impending werewolf transformation. Summary
The thing is, Pearl knows what Avid is — or, more accurately, what he will be — from the moment they meet.
Werewolves are social creatures by nature, and a lone hunter is not one that will survive long. It's why Pearl came to Oakhurst in the first place; in some desperate attempt to seek the pack that had been taken from her in the one place she thought she might find it. A land so rife with the Wild Hunt that more than once she had nearly lost herself to its call and transformed in broad daylight. Fragile hope in her heart after months that already felt like years of solitude to a creature that was never meant to be exclusive.
Avid is not a werewolf. Not yet. But even under the rotten stench of the silver-cut alchemy that stagnates the howling thing she knows to lay in his heart, he smells like home.
Like dew and fur and family.
