Peter Parker’s life was one giant, grating mess.
Right now, he was in a dark alley, digging through trash behind the deli he used to frequent. Hunger, gnawing and pinching at the sides of his stomach, had become a constant sensation. Weeks passed, his stomach growing louder — the sensation becoming more intense and familiar, the longer he went without an actual meal.
He'd been surviving off three loaves of bread the bakery tossed because they weren't “aesthetically pleasing.” If he was honest, the lumpy bread did look a little unappetizing — but it did the job. Until it didn’t.
Now he was stuck digging through moldy cheese, days-old pizza, and rats that kept nibbling on his fingers.

"PLEASE, IS ANYBODY THERE?!" He was banging so hard against the wood his hands were getting scraped and bloody. The tears finally came through. He just wanted out.
He might be spared a painless death, he was already getting woozy from the hyperventilating. Maybe I'd pass out and be sacrificed quickly. Through the crying and screaming, it all felt for nothing. Nobody was coming for him and that made his heart sink. He was hopelessly pushing against the seemingly immovable doors, praying for anything, anyone to let him out.
Outside of the locker, the sound of wood breaking echoed.
